Are those Balsam Firs, Coleman? There are lots of them all over Vermont and at our camp and acreage there, growing in a variety of locations, both singly and in thickets. Their commonality is the need for continually moist soils so they thrive in the lowlands near our creeks and shrub swamp. Much of our field and forest soil structure is a few feet of loam over a fairly dense Fragipan layer so with most of our acreage being sloped and therefore well-drained the soli is still moist and many of our balsams rooted thusly even on higher ground end up like the culprit in your pic above, toppling over from wind and snow weight. We've also had some develop long vertical splits and eventually snap off. They're beautiful trees that I'm pleased to have in our forest, but not something you's want anywhere near your house. We got a foot of snow last night…still snowin’ today. Gotta make the best of it and get the sleds all fired up for the nephews to ride tomorrow.
Power is still out with no estimated time of restoration…but I think I found the culprit…

Back on topic, another even older pic of today's carry, predating the lanyard shown earlier today....

Hey My friend! I actually had to venture out today for cat food but everything was starting to melt enough to were it was doable and I didn’t have to go far . I’d been all over it if I could of had it delivered no doubt. She is doing well and just turned 9 months but acts like she is still 3 months lol she a little terrorBe safe if you get out. Too bad cat food can be delivered from a local store like human groceries can be.
How is the little kitten doing?
Did your shield holster arrive?
Merry Christmas Ed
Looks cold! Hope you are staying warm and that you and your family have a wonderful Christmas! We got a foot of snow last night…still snowin’ today. Gotta make the best of it and get the sleds all fired up for the nephews to ride tomorrow.

Cool vintage receiver with the VU meters and ample power to boot! Reminds me of the old marantz recievers, of which i have one in the garage for a project one day.Single digit temps combined with 45mph winds makes for a good day to stay inside and complete a few projects.
Refurbishing an old Phase Linear 400 stereo amp for my father who purchased in the late '70's. He wants to rediscover his old vinyl collection. After replacing a few 45 year old electrolytic capacitors and shorted output transistors, we have 200 watts per channel of pure direct coupled analog goodness. They just don't make them like this anymore.

Chewys.com does deliver. That is how we get our food. So much easier than the store. Only downside is occasionally a can or two is busted. I hope she never loses that kitten outlook. That is what makes them so much fun.Hey My friend! I actually had to venture out today for cat food but everything was starting to melt enough to were it was doable and I didn’t have to go far . Happy Holidays BF!
I’ll have to try chewys next time . But it was a good test for my car so I know what to expect when I have to drive in these conditions. Yes Dave is an exceptionally good and true craftsman. I knew his work was good but it has exceeded my expectations by miles . I’ve had some nice holsters in my day but his are the best I’ve ever experienced. The fit is spot on to for the prefect breakin .Chewys.com does deliver. That is how we get our food. So much easier than the store. Only downside is occasionally a can or two is busted.
