I carried my 550 HG Grip today, both for Wilkins Wednesday and in anticipation of receiving a new-to-me 551-1 in the morning mail. I'd given my buddy my 551-1702 in appreciation of his help working on our roof and both missed having a "stock" Griptilian as well as a plain-edged 551. My only one of that model is a 551SBK with OD canvas Micarta Igorded scales. My other four Grips, including this one, wear Wilkins.

I'd not been all that taken with the series when they first came out, but found a 550-1 for a nice price on the Exchange and bought it for my wife. Hers really grew on me. I'm glad to have this "original" 550 blade, hollow ground in 154CM, as well as the new CPM 551-1 I'll carry tomorrow.
