I certainly appreciate your sympathy in this matter, but I was glad to be able to find enough discussion to understand the issue, as I didn't know squat about pinned construction. As to trusting the fix, well we shall see. It could well hold up, or I might just have to take it a bit further. I was conservative as there's no reverse to that process once one has gone too far and overtightened. I'm certainly not interested in trying to de- and re-pin the knife despite having watched a vid on that.
