EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

Finally decided to ride the Lightning and foray into OTF's. I think I've made an expensive mistake.

People joke but those have pretty good double action. Mine have been fairly reliable and are much easier on my arthritic thumb than some major-brand models that cost more than ten times as much.

Sure, the blade is only like 440A or whatever but remember, lots of people still defend 420 in Bucks and Leathermans, whatever steel Victorinox uses, etc. It just depends on what you're doing with it.

You can always be sure of one thing, whenever I'm home I'm surrounded by multiple knives. Tonight I decided to set my computer up outside, right next to the bird feeder and sit in my camp chair. I got my hummingbird friend buzzing around right next to me. This passed week I've learned that hummingbirds are super friendly little creatures. The other day I was up on a step stool pruning a bush against the back fence and he hovered up from behind the fence and just stared at me from a few feet away. Then he buzzed on over to the hummingbird feeder, got a sip of suga water, and buzzed back and watched me from the same spot in the air again. Now it seems like every time I come outside here, he buzzes on up within a few minutes, gets a drink of sugar, and then he has a tiny little twig in the tree next to me and just hangs out and watches me. He'll hangout there for like 10 minutes at a time, then buzz around for a minute or so and then perch back up there and watch me haha. I've got my Griptilian modified by Igorded (that's one hell of a name). He makes one hell of a set of scales though. Really nice fit and finish on the black and brown canvas micarta separated by a nice little red g10 liner with Ti standoffs separating them. Then I've got another one of my favorites, a A.G. Russell Acies 2. It was OEM'd by Kershaw/ZT in the US for A.G. back in probably somewhere in the early 2010s and sports a sweet titanium framelock with a ZDP-189 blade. I swear my knives have a lot more snail trails on them than what my pics show. They always seem to look brand new in my pics, but really many are all snailed and scratched up. I need to replace the glass that covers my camera lense on my phone.

Ended up sticking with the Manix/Compact combo for the day. Like Goodfellas, Saturdays are for the wife around here, and mine decided she wanted to make a Costco trip then go out to supper. Got home and had a nice evening around the house and outside. I just gotta say, I'm not ready to let go of summer just yet

Nevertheless, I must say the smoky whiskies have been appealing to me as of late

Nice!
You are gonna have to give up summer. It's our turn😉😊 you can have it back next year.

Had the vic harvester & p4 most of the day while doing some planting & gardening. When I came in switched to skeletool & new whittler that was a gift from pmek5 pmek5

Having a family reunion this weekend with our Cali branch of the tree (son, wife, grandson) here for a week, my RI son and GF coming tomorrow for the day, and our still on-Cape son hanging out too. My buddy came by for an hour or so to button up one open part of the roof and I thought I might have to help a bit so I grabbed one of my better work knives instead one of those I keep nicer. Turns out he told me to hang with my family and took care of the work himself, but I was still perfectly content to stick with the Turtle. Hope y'all are having as nice a weekend as we are here!

Agreed…I’ve had a few thru the years and never had an issue with them, sure they’re not exotic etc but work and function fine for inexpensive OTFs.
