Edge Pro Matrix resin bond diamond stones

Thank you all for the responses. I'm a big boy, I was doing good practicing with cheap knives so as not to ruin any of my good ones and there I go ruining my good stone! I understand the resin recipe now, I gouged the resin and not the diamond. Valuable lesson. Now back to the workbench. I have never dressed a stone before so I will YouTube that.

Thanks again

Bob
Here is one of the better videos on dressing these resin bond stones that I have made. Since it just needs refreshing it should only need about 15 seconds of dressing.

Can someone explain to me why I can't watch the videos that are posted? I used to be able to but now it says to Sign in to confirm you're not a bot.
It also has a learn more link that doesn't go anywhere, just a blank page.
I am signed into YouTube and have an account.

I wanted to watch Diemakers Video

Thanks

K K80Shooter - it is a YouTube issue. I had the same thing and eventually it went away. I can see the video and it is working for me. I can't remember what I did when with YouTube and it worked.

When YT started cracking down on ways to avoid their adds I switched to Brave for my YT watching browser. No adds and no problems so still using it for that purpose.

Howdy all. Recent member of forum, but long time knife nerd.
I grew up with a Father that worked as a butcher after he retired from the U.S. Army. (Seven kids at home that liked to eat...) He taught me how to sharpen with whetstones and I got pretty good at it over the years. I sharpened my home kitchen knives, pocket knives and even fixed blade broadheads for hunting.

After many years in the Army myself I am retired and finding things to tinker with. My age, vision challenges and some physical limitations are making it harder for me to free-hand sharpen.

I bought Edge Pro Apex and later TS Prof guided systems. Man what great machines!

I used the stone set provided with the Apex and had great results. When Edge Pro started selling the Diamond Matrix stones I bought the full set.
Sort of a learning curve, esp. using edge trailing method.

I appreciate this forum, this thread and all the accumulated knowledge, and especially the manufacturer sharing his experience.
