I love Buck knives as much as most of you, so please don't think I am putting them down.
Today I was happy to see that my two Buck 112's came today (a day early). I mean I have been counting the days (you know what I mean
) I could not get the package open fast enough. Well I was a little let down to say the least. After seeing Mr. T schloz's thread about his 112, it was confirmed they were Brass bolster instead of NS. This was the first disapointment, but I got over that when I noticed how beautiful the stag was on Mr. T schloz's 112.
Today when I pulled my 112's out, they did not look anything like Mr. T schloz's 112 other than the brass bolsters (which my paper work that came with the package was even listed as NS bolsters) and the 3 dot blade. The one that had the slightest amount of bark looks to have tool marks (whatever it is, it is not natural) all over areas that were not sanded flat on one side and two nice size tool marks on the other.
The other 112 with out any bark does not even meet up with the top bolster on the back side. It is well below the bolster and very noticable.
I know I am be sounding picky, but when you are showing them off to other guys braging on how good Buck knives are, you tend to want them to look good. To me these look like they threw on what ever scrap they had laying around.
Anyway here are some pics of the two.
