Elusive Schrades

Charlie those came out in 1981. The first two knives (and the case) were shipped in September of that year followed by the remaining knives sometime later.

PS- Oops, sorry Gus I must have been typing as you were posting. I always do that LOL!

Gus that knife is from a five knife Cutlery Classics set called "The Tradesman Series" that was put out around 1981. Each knife commemorated a trade; Rancher, Fisherman, Miner, Farmer, and Lumberman. Yes it was the same bone used on the Parker knives, I believe sourced from Boker at the time. Here are a couple of pics:

Charlie, they put a saber grind on it for some reason.🤔 I had Mr. Krein take care of that.😉. Now it is very sharp and very strong. Comfortable in the hand too 👍.
I remember thinking a saber grind might not be the best!! Unless one is chip carving??!!

Nice knife, John!! great to find an etch!!
Here are a couple more Rope knives. one for boating and one for horticulture!! One, a later version of yours!!

Thanks Charlie, I find yours quite interesting, don’t think I’ve ever seen a Walden with the black covers, most Ive seen have been Cut Co, must be an early Walden.
