Elusive Schrades

This year's GEC obsession started with a mustard patina, passed through a vinegar wash and ended up all covered in mineral oil. It's a mess! Thanks again Charlie for the fine Schrade wannabe. It ain't half-bad!

I posted these some time ago, but they always amaze me when I dig them out!! Every once in a while Schrade would make some Pearl knives! Not just pens, but good-sized
knives!! Notice the old curved stamps on the swell-end Jack!!Pearl Jacks 1.jpgPearl Jacks 2.jpg
The creme de la creme was this Stockman! Such a nice knife!Pearl Stock 1.jpgPearl Stock 2.jpg

Cal…. As Charlie said :thumbsup::thumbsup:
What does “cleaned inside” exactly mean? Was this an extra step in finish, or manufacture??
Would it be possible to see the “full milled back” as well on the M9806?

Cleaned inside means they cleaned the springs up to a fine sanded appearance. Springs are very dark when they come out of heat treat and annealing, almost black. In fact the knives that weren't cleaned inside were described as "black inside". You'll find that description on the less expensive smaller jacks such as some of the 3 3/8" and 3 1/2" models as well as the barlows.

Great pearls guys, WOW!!!
