Elusive Schrades

Although the Schrade Cut. Co. catalogs offered Genuine Stag as a handle option, you don't see too many. The stag on this one is beautiful, and well chosen for a 3" knife. All blades are Crocus polished, and with the threaded (hand-filed I believe! Slight variation under magnification!) bolsters, it was meant to be a top-end knife!!

Very nice Charlie . I guess you are correct in that it is hard to find a Schrade covered in Stag . It took me a while , but I finally found one that was made for the NKCA Club Knife in 1982 . Really like this one .

Very nice Cal !!!!!
And here I thought that I was probably the only person in the world that had a Sausage Knife or a Melon Tester in a collection . I have 2 given to me by an Old Friend who had been the Vice President of Sales for a company that made Packaging Products . Chuck was a great guy .
Some persons call these Sausage Knives but where I came from they were called Melon Testers . Chuck called them Sausage Testers . One of my 2 was made by Colonial and this one was made by Schrade . Most likely it is much newer than your's because it has a Stainless Blade .
