Hal,

these knives are really great looking. I love the peachseed jigged bone on them. :)

Made my day, Hal! What a sight. Nice to see this thread pop up when I least expect it. Thanks for adding those beauties, with their fine collectors' patina.
No "buffers" here, just the real thing!!!!

Hi Hal... that is yet again a lovely Schrade!!, I just love the way they ran that Swedge right along the blade - a beautiful knife! The pile side scale seems just that little more Golden!...beautiful colours for that Bone.

Looks in good shape, Jake! Split/wedged backspring?
How long??

Supposedly it was a salesman's sample. It has a few spots but it's in very nice shape. It's a Schrade Cut Co, 3" closed, bone handle, and a split/wedged backspring. It's missing on pin on the pile side. o.0

I also have a cattle knife on the way... used and some flea bites but some original shine left on it.

Nice as always Hal! Jake two fine looking knives buddy! You always
come up with some nice examples... Thanks for sharing.

Jason

Not as ideal as Hal's shown above but still decent, and recently received, here are 2 Schrade Walden knives, 883 and 891.

The quality is still present in these 2. Either would make a fine knife to sharpen and carry with pride.

Here are 2 Schrade-Walden 804 Whittlers:

This darker handled one has "Stainless" stamped on the backside tang of the Master blade.

Here is a neat Schrade Cut Co. 4 1/8" Advertizing knife:

Nice knives, Roland!

I received the cattle knife today. I'm guessing the main blade was buffed. I suspect they were all polished but I can't tell if the sheepfoot and spey blades were buffed. It doesn't look like any abrasives were used. The bolsters were also buffed (yuck!). The buffing epidemic that seems to taken hold of vintage knife sellers is very unfortunate. At the price that I paid, I'm not going to worry about it. It can be sharpened and used.

Nice Schrades popping up here!!!
I have grown to love the honest patina one finds on a genuine unbrutalized knife.
Thanks, Folks for making my day!!

Nice knife, Doug! It has eluded me... Is the handle wood? It would be a shame to lose the patina that knife has earned.

Thanks Jake. Propwood, according to Hal. I have also seen it advertised as wondawood (trade names, no doubt, for impregnated wood). And I wholeheartedly agree with your assessment.

And 2 more fine older Schrades worthy of posting, a Schrade Cut. Co. 3 5/8" Swell End Jack #2063 and a Schrade-Walden 3 3/8" Equal End Jack #256.

Schrade-Walden #256. These pictures are not the best, but this knife is as close to Perfect Mint as i have ever personally seen in an older knife.
