Roland,

Some great examples added to an already great thread!
Can you tell us more about the slender equal end 3 bladed knife with manicure blade?

Ken, it's a 3" Schrade Cut. Co. Senator, pattern # 8083B ("B" = "Bone Stag"), described in Catalogue E as "sunk joint, nickel(sic) silver bolsters and shield, cleaned inside, blades full crocus polished".

Here is the backside, blades closed:

Schrade Cutlery Co. made a wide range of 3 and 4 blade Senator patterns. The Senator is a marvel of fine fit and finely ground small, razor sharp blades. It was one of the most expensive of all folding knife patterns back in it's day.
It's a favorite of mine and i have quite a collection of "Senators, British, American & German".

Roland, how about some more info on the last knife you pictured, with the spear, pen and manicure out the bottom.

I love the bone and the tip bolsters on that one. What do they call the frame shape that teardrops at both ends?

Whoa Baby! A flood of beauties! Nice additions Roland, to your collection, and to "Elusive Schrades".

How about this one? I have since cleaned and waxed the covers and put a nice edge on it. Not sure how the end of the chain works. I assume it goes over an overall button.

Also, here is an interesting Senator patten I picked up as well. Spring replacement for the scissors pending.

Those are fine examples Dave. Are you going to use one of the replacement springs that are sold for Swiss Army Knives ?
A missing or broken scissor spring is fairly common in vintage knives. I'd like to know what you will use and how well it fits.

I bought a couple of SAK springs online but they are a bit small. They make larger springs so I will get one of those when I find it.

Roland, those are just fantastic! You've been pretty stealthy, haven't you? :D

Dave, that chain was actually made to hook over suspender buttons, which were commonly found on pants back then and were situated right by the pockets. Nice knife!

A day to be Thankful, today, I am thankful to the previous owner/user of this Elusive Schrade, for not driving tacks with it, or prying loose bottle caps! Well used, I hope she or he used it in good health!!
Genuine Stag (GS) Schrade Jacks are amazingly rare. You will see lots of Pen knives with GS, but rarely a 3 1/2" Jack. 2219GS I think would be the catalog designation, the stag is in remarkable condition and quality, after I stripped off what appeared to be candle wax (paraffin?).

Perfect pulls on that one too, Charlie. Long pull from swedge to plunge, at full width of spine for good purchase, and a graceful long nick on the pen. A true gem.
