Embark on a new snark

Seems to be a slow one. Especially considering that Dresnor should very much be making some additions to a certain thread in these parts.

I am going to be working on my addition to that thread soon.

Jeremy

I'll be waiting to see it. You need to take some time and really get a ton of pics of it and a ton of measurements. Those are rare birds indeed, and I'm glad now we at least know someone with one, if only for reference sake.

ohboy ohboy!
I've wanted a speeder bike since Jedi was in the theaters!
Measure EVERYTHING so we can reverse engineer it completely.

Pm me with pics and measurements you want to see.

Did he tell you I got by complete mistake?
LOL!

You guessed it!

The only thing, it looks like it ran into a tree or something and the front stabilizer has been removed.

Thinking about getting another smallish sling bag, or some type of EDC bag.

I like my Maxpedition Sitka.

Not sure if that is the style you want but it works for me.

Jeremy
Wanting to get something cheaper. I won't use it too much, so cheaper is okay. I had a cheap sling bag, and while I liked it, I didn't think it was very comfortable. One like this, only mine was od:

I was thinking about one of these style bags, but I don't know if I would like it either. Seems to me that this bag would get in the way of a swinging arm while hiking:

Amanda has a Maxpedition bag like that. She doesn't seem to have a problem it being in the way while hiking. She just slides it behind her and goes. Hers also has a waist strap so it dosn't move much at all. I bet there are other makers that have the same waist strap feature that are cheap.

Yeah, I did see a few. I gave my sling bag to my wife. She loves it. Maybe I should just try that one again, see if I can get used to it. Nice to have a hands free smallish bag when going on short hikes. We went on a short hike yesterday, on the Sangamon River, made me think about it.

I have a UTG version I guess of that. It's pretty nice. I use it as my Get home bag/Work bag. I like it a lot! I have a smaller maxpedition bag that I thought would work but it was a hair too small for me, I ended up using it as a spice bag while camping. For that it works great.

I have a pretty decent load out in my UTG, the one thing I added which I can drop inside since I have the space for, is my first aid kit, I grabbed a 5.11 6x6 pouch and it clipped right to the strap and I have a really decent FAK in there.

Wife and I went on an impromptu hike yesterday. About a mile is all, at Carpenter Park, near Springfield, on the Sangamon River:

You silly boys and your purses ;)

I wasn't gonna say anything, but... yeah. I've tried on a few of those style bags at shows and stuff... I don't quite get it.

I'm sort of in the market for a medium-size backpack, but cheese and rice, there's so many to choose from

Does that one have a waist strap?
It does not. However it has a loop that can go around your belt and it utilizes that. I've used it a couple of times when around town and want to make sure my pistol is right where I want it and not sliding around behind me or somewhere else.

I have a buddy that owns about a mile long swath of land over in Riverton that runs along the Sangamon(?... Maybe Clear Creek?) That is great for fishing.
