Emberlit Stove

Okay I think I got it...

Got a chance to give it a try just now. Neighbors were looking at me like I was nuts with a fire in the yard. Oh well...

Anyway I wanted to see how long it took to boil 2 cups of water in the pot. Time posted below. This thing really cranked out the heat. The Trangia and the Emberlit make an awesome combo. But, because of the size of both the stove and the burner you will not be able to do any type of adjustments to the simmer ring once it is in place.

I took a shot of where the simmer ring can be adjusted before start up. I have to say that the denatured alcohol is one hell of a clean burn. The picture below shows no residue whatsoever after boiling the water...but, then again, it is a new pot.

On to the picture show...

I ordered another one yesterday
These are good stuff . Giving it to a close friend .

Put my new Emberlit stove to good use this morning at the cottage by cooking a pound of bacon in a 12" cast iron fry pan. I was amazed how stable it was and how little smoke was produced. I have to practice with it some more, but it is really easy to use. I couldn't be more pleased with it!

Just received mine and the fit and finish is great as I expected. I will add my test run to the mix asap.

He's got the Titanium version up on the site.
I just ordered one.
Cant wait to get it!

I'm without a camera until .....
I found a Home Depot pouch that fit the Emberlit well (still about a 1/2" thick) which is what I'll carry it in. Once I get hands on a camera, I'll get some pictures posted.

Wonder if you can tell us more about the pouch you found at
Home Depot
Thanks

I'm guessing it's this pouch. HD has them, Husky brand, pack of 3 assorted sizes.
You'll find all 3 sizes useful.

I ordered mine way back on 10-12-11 and it hasn't arrived yet. But I paid by USPS money order via snail-mail (Codger don't do online banking transactions and don't play PreyPal). I ordered the 5.45 ounce titanium Emberlit-UL instead of the 11.3 ounce stainless Emberlit. Mikhail told me that the UL version pretty much stays on backorder, but wait time is usually just a week or two. I'm willing to wait, but just barely so.:)

I ordered the titanium one last week and it's being shipped now. I love the SS one, which has seen a lot of use this summer. Thanks for the info on the bags. I'm going to check them out.

Mikhail was picking up a shipment the day I ordered mine. He told me that he had a backorder of about 30 to ship when he got them, so mine will likely be in the next batch he picks up. Evidently he shipped yours from that batch.

Hay! You making fun of me? :D

Yeah, having to wait a bit more to receive stuff from on-line ordering is the price I pay for sending money orders to pay for them. Mikhail seems to be keeping up with his orders pretty well though, so the wait shouldn't be too long. If he had any in stock when he got my payment, I should have it by next weekend. If not, then by mid week the following week.

I only hope he doesn't burn out (pun intended) and sell his design to a big maker who sells only to retailers. That has happened to a lot of one-man shops inventing, making and selling outdoor gear.

Hi all,

I got a Emberlit, and went out to the woods to giver a try. I am very pleased with the way it went together and how easy it was to set up. When I got my tinder and kindling started and put in the stove it all went very well. adding the twigs and spilt mullberry sticks I had. I heated some water in my crusader pot. Just a few pics.

In just a few minutes I had my water really warm. I do not like hot scalding water for my coco.

This is a great little wood burning stove.

Sure. Rub it in. :)

How did you clean it when you packed it out or when you got home? No issues with burrs?

I had my new one out yesterday and today as well. I just boiled up some water for some tea, but it worked really well. I had a set of three zipper pouches that I picked up from Lowes. The stove fits great in the mid-size pouch. Sorry, no photos. I don't own a camera.
