Emerson Calls Bullsh*t

I have owned 4 Emersons thru the last several years. I carry my CQC-7 when I do heavy yard work. It has never ever failed me. I have other much more expensive knives, supposedly stronger knives, but this is the one I trust when push comes to shove with hard use. I have the UTMOST RESPECT for Mr. Emerson and EKI. He stands behind his product, is honest to a fault, and what more can you ask for with a business. I stand behind Mr. Emerson, and wish his company nothing but success, jeff standerfer, springfield, illinois.

I was wondering about all these bad knives myself?? I just received my Prestige CQC-7V today and the fit and finish could not be better.

I have had around 60 production Emersons at one time or another.

I can say this...

There is no greater thing in all of the knife world than that "new Emerson smell" you get when you open the box... :)

Outstanding post! Call'em out on the carpet. I wish more companies would do it. Stand up for the quality of your product.

I don't own an Emerson, but believe me, its not for lack of wanting one.

I've noticed such "complaint and no proof posts" for a couple of other companies on here too. I've never had any issues with those companies and I personally know of no person who has, except for the posters in those threads. AND, this isn't the only forum I'm on that talks about knives. Not one complaint can I find posted on most of the other sites I hang out on.

I don't own one of your knives, but after reading this letter as well as your blog, I must say, you seem to have your priorities in line and I respect that. I intend to buy one of your knives ASAP!
Best of luck in your continued endeavors.

Well said, Mr. E! I've owned about 2 dozen EKIs and the quality has always been outstanding! A few of the designs didn't mesh with me personally, but thats a matter of taste, and certainly not because there was a problem with the knife.

Jason, you did fine, brother. Don't stress. You asked an honest question with good intentions. (BTW ZTs rock as well! They are a VERY different beast though! I'd rather use a ZT if I had reason to hack though a tree! But if I had to hack through a person, or perform any of the hundreds of daily tasks that I might actually encounter, I'd rather have an Emerson! Whenever I carry a Strider, ZT, Benchmade, etc... I always have my Combat Karambit weak side carry!)

I told you all that thread on QC problem is some BULLSHIT started by blind folks who also doesn't know what they are talking about.

I have bought 5 Emersons within the last 3 month. You think I would do that if the QC was bad?

And, for those of you who do not know, we are moving toward direct sales to our dealers. Hence, the new Prestige Dealer Program that is driving our business through the roof. In spite of our terrible knives, our terrible service, our terrible quality we are one of the only knife companies that is growing in this economy and at the fastest rate since the company Emerson Knives was founded.

This is the thing I don't like. This means street prices are going to go up to price similar to EKI website. Yak!

Bravo Zulu! Emerson Knives and Mr Emerson earned my respect. I repeat EARNED. That is all I feel I need to say. The Emersons are an American success story. Everyone has one bad apple now and then and anything made by man can and will break at the worst possible time( that is why you carry a spare or 2) but out of 10 Emerson Knives I own (11 soon I Bought a gent jim today I hope it is as crappy a knife as my others) I have not had a single warrenty issue. Not one! and 5 of my knives are in daily hard use and have been in some of the roughest places on earth. I put my trust in Emerson. try saying that with some kinda chinese shoe factory knife. Enough said

I've had a few knives. The ones I have kept over the years are Emersons. There's good reason for that, and the service is a part of it. The quality is as well. The integrity is the keystone in the equation.

You know, I am more glad than ever I'm picking up a Gentleman Jim this week from my friend James. It will be a good, fresh reminder of all of those things that make my choice of knife to carry in the office, on the street and everywhere else an Emerson.

I've been pretty happy with my crappy A-100 for a number of years. So much so, that I'm now deciding on my next crappy Emerson. I think there are a lot of people that let their fingers get ahead of their brains when they go on-line and should warm it (their brain) up a bit before lighting the screen up. Judging by this weak post, I'm probably one of them.

It'd be interesting if any of the major quality bashers post up here.

I agree with a few of these guys, my next knife will definitely be another Emerson, gotta admire character like that.

I have 6 Emersons and don't have any issues with any of them. Blades have all been centered, F&F is good and the knives are rock solid. I only wish that they were easier to get ahold of. I hope the new facility = more knives. Thanks for the post here, Mr. Emerson.

Great post Mr. Emerson. I hope you don't let some fools get you too worked up. Those who know the truth will always stand by you.

Mr. Emerson thanks for the post. Glad to see a man stand behind his product.

My lock started in the middle of blade and now has worked over almost touching the other side in 3 weeks and sticks very bad, also has side to side blade play.

Question: Does this qualify for warranty?

Thanks

Interesting responce. The issues brought up are SMALL F&F issues that could be easily addressed.
