Emerson Tiger

Dapimpspimp, could you please send me an email? Hopefully that works.

Thanks guys I appreciate your responses!!

Folks, don't neglect to follow the greater forum rules. Registered members cannot sell items at all, and only a manufacturer can do such things in their own section. All sales MUST be in the Exchange section. For those attempting t wheel and deal, I'm going to ask that you stop. Thanks

Sorry Revdevil, my bad.

Excitement for blades sometimes gets me whipped into a frenzy. Won't happen again.

Merry Christmas!

No worries at all. I'm very close to buying the Tiger myself. Still debating the next one. Too many choices ;)

I wonder if anyone owns the Tiger, the ETAK, the Combat Systems Fighter, and the SOCFK and is able to compare & contrast them. I think those are the four Emerson "fighting knives," correct?

Well said.

Calling them "combat" or "fighting" knives gives the guys who buy them to, oh i dont know, CUT STUFF, a needless negative image.

Here's a picture of the four. Each are different feeling and effective. My first Emerson was a Specwar-A so the SOCFK is the most familiar to me. The top utility user for me of the 4 would be the Tiger or ETAK-B (ETAK-A loses against those 2). I am not too fond of the CSF due to it's upwards blade angle (think PTAC) nor the area of the handle where my fingers wrap around. The handle of the CSF feels better after I put some thicker scales bumping its width up to 3/4" (with pocketclip). The SOCFK handle feels slim/tiny compared to the other 3 though they all have the same overall thickness. A Super SOCFK would match up better in size. Reverse grip, ETAK wins big time for me. My thumb has full contact along the spine of the entire handle without the tip hanging and the curved shape of the butt end is so nice and comfy!

Rayster, that was great -- thanks.
Btw, I really like all those tiger scales. Did you make those yourself?

Now that I think about it, I think the handle shape of the CQC-10 or Hattin would fit the blade shape of the Tiger/CSF extremely well.

No problem, my pleasure!
Yeah, I make my own scales and backspacers, my current hobby. It's fun but time consuming and messy with all the dust from saws, drills, files and sandpaper.

Got mine today and straight into my pocket it went. First stop.... Nasty crawl space. :barf:

I'm glad that that od tiger went to a good home, Ray. I was so close to snagging it myself. I put a monster disc on mine and it greatly improved opening. Might have to try a 45 disc someday.
