Got some good work done on my new kukri design today. Alabama Damascus and old growth california redwood burl from Burl Source. I'm really happy with this rendition of my handle design. Balance is about an inch up from the ricasso, so it's got enough forward balance to get a good snap cut, but isn't too far forward to make it unwieldy, in my estimation. B.Mauser, you're welcome to try it when I stop by with your knife.

Also nearly done with gunknifenut's custom.

probably easier than filing for mail fraud. you piss those guys off, you never get mail again.

but you know, if he needed to rip off his friends for drug money, his life is a special hell of its own

hopefully his dog doesn't poop glitter :D

i would have to go with "heat treat" - too hard, and "stress riser"; the break isn't a straight line like i'd expect with an inclusion, but not a spectacular curve either.

POSSIBLY bad technique. most batons that i've seen on this hear forum, when they break at the handle, there's "stuff" going on induced by the user.

but the claim is "little force", soft clean wood, and ... eh. i dunno.

shoulda bought a BK2 :D

oddly enough, he likes Khukris almost as much as i do. gave him a nice one the other year. not many people give HIM knives. i thought that was cute :D
 
Saw these two things at another site... seemed like an important thing to re-post here.

Everyone should be contacting your representatives to protect our gun rights. Huge agenda to ban many, many firearms right now, and if this were to pass it'd be really bad. We're talking much worse than the 94 AWB... national gun registration, firearms pass to state upon death of owner, burden of proof is on owner to prove hi-cap magazine was manufactured pre-bill.

It seems too ridiculous to pass, but we absolutely have to make sure it doesn't.

This has real business potential as an expression of displeasure. Turdogram. "Yes, I'd like to have a steamer sent to my ex please." Or.."Could I get a corny to my boss before noon?"

I like it. Could save the Postal Service too.

Yeah he looked pretty deranged in that picture.

As for the video, it seems to be all the same nowadays with big breaking news stories -- each network rushes out "facts" (many of them contradictory) and when a salacious one is "revealed" they (and politicians pushing an agenda) just run with it as fast as they can. Now, when the dust settles and these "initial reports" are found to be inaccurate, it's merely a footnote. No need to stop and think about the events that prompted the initial outrage.

Even if they got called to task on it (let's say it's officially decided that it was a shotgun, not an AW, and was left in the trunk the entire time), politicians like Feinstein would ignore that fact saying, "That doesn't change anything, these weapons are still too dangerous!" Yet if you told her today that "Evil Black Rifles" are not more dangerous, she'd immediately point her finger at Sandy Hook and say, "Yes they are, just look what happened at the school!"

I felt physically sick hearing about what happened at Sandy Hook all day that Friday. Now I'm disgusted to see "public servants" manipulate such a terrible loss of life for their own selfish agendas.

Sorry I'm personally just sick of hearing about this crap. People don't seem to understand yes the world is getting worse, it's bound to happen. If you don't like the rules here, MOVE. That is my advice.
 
I've been playing with my 9 non stop since I opened it, I just can't get over how tactile it is for such a large blade, that and its incredible badass factor :D

Damn fake Christmas tree has to weigh 75-80 lbs. Pure joy to carry down a flight of stairs and put it in the very back of the crawl space by yourself. I should have just chopped it into pieces with my machax or -9...

Before anyone asks we keep it in a big red bag made to hold Christmas trees.

Some of my friends know a girl who mails her excrement to weirdos who pay her, supposedly decent sums too. Apparently she has to bake it in an oven before mailing so it will be...'intact'...upon arrival. From what I know it's illegal, hence the decent sums. Gross story I know, but this reminded me of it.
