While I appreciate all the suggestions I would encourage each of you to become a designer and take your design all the way to actual working pieces. There is a shitload more to this than meets the eye. Ask Tom, the man who did most of the final design work from our ideas. For example, the clip was initially recessed in the handle but that caused some issues elsewhere in the folder due to its design. Clip placement is where it is for a reason, etc. I realize that everyone wants certain things and those certain things may do well on a different design but our design is what it is.

I have to say, the knife really looks awesome in those pictures. As for the clip, personally, i prefer deep carry clips, because that way the knife isn't sticking too much out of the pocket...but as long as its not pink color, its fine with me either way.

Actually you (the designer) wanted a pink clip and we said hell now. Something about you gay Europeans I'll never understand....

As long as it's not some "limited-number-released-for-an-hour-and-then-you'll-never-have-a-chance-of-getting-one" kind of deal I don't care if take three more years to see it on sale.

It's frustrating at times to see a knife you want, save the money to get it and then it's gone, never to be released again.

Like I said, I'm patiently looking forward to it.

this from one of the few companies to offer a full knife in pink :D

I do love my tactical pink Izula, I get lots of smiles instead of stares in fear.

We do NOT plan to do a Limited Edition model. Doing that causes a total cluster f&*k especially when you have regular production models being released at the same time. Once we go into production, it will be a standard part of our line for a while with no changes, unless it's optional scale colors or something like that, but even those would be way after the production run was on the market. I freakin hate confusion and disorganization on a project.

Booyah.

Love ya, Jeff! :)

Oh, I am serious. I've got prototypes in-hand, in the hands of a guy who does work with the folks I'm submitting it to for review, and am formulating options for if they don't want it.

This is the kind of stuff we love to hear. We need MORE people in this industry designing and bringing ideas to fruition. A large part of this industry is dull, boring old companies doing the same old shit year after year. We love to see fresh blood come in and do well. For example, Blind Horse knives. Those guys are kicking ass and rightfully so. Love it. Anyone who doesn't like "competition" is a fool because they simple don't understand the customer base of this relatively tiny industry.

My feedback fwiw: Absolutely love the blade shape, even though I'm more of a spyderco guy, I really like the thumbstuds with this one, handle shape looks great, like the deep cutout choil near the front for grip, though I can't say too much about it without having held it. like the pocket clip. I also agree about the rotoblock, it's cool but I can't see myself using it often if ever, and if it not having it keeps price down and makes it less complicated, less parts to worry about take it out
I think making the jimping on the top sharper/more grippy would be helpful or even adding a bit of a thumb ramp. I do hope you guys decide to leave the blade uncoated, though if you go with a non-stainless steel I can see the benefits (I just don't like the cutting resistance most coatings give, although I do like the slicker coating benchmade has been using lately such as on the CPM-M4 ritter grip). Also as a bit of a steel nut, I hope you guys consider CPM-M4 as the regular production steel for its toughness and edge holding, One of the reasons I'm not too interested in striders or CRK's is because although I like their designs and just about everything else is because they use common old S30V which is a great steel, but not that interesting. Or if you do decide to do D2 as the production version (like the izula/F) after awhile (a year or two) of regular production and you have all the kinks ironed out do a limited run in M4 for the steel guys (also maybe even one in 1095).

Jeff just said he's not interested in any limited runs lol.

Sounds like you're looking for a knife made for collectors, not users. A great knife should put function first, before being interesting. I would pick S30V over M4 anyday for a folder for the added corrosion resistance. I couldn't even imagine a 1095 folder.
