Thank you Jeff for letting us all know the reason behind why. It would have been worse with "he said/she said" stuff. I'll be ready to buy whenever this baby comes out!

That sucks that you had to go through a crappy business deal but everything happens for a reason and hopefully you will find a better solution.

Thanks for the heads up on what's going on and I'm sure someday we will see the ESEE-3f in production until then we have the Izula, 3, 4, 5, 6, Junglas, Machete, AH-1, and the coming LS :D ......I am more than happy with what I have and can wait for folder, I prefer for it to be done right than to be rushed under the wrong circumstances.:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Not to upset anybody, but I think this is great news - manufactured in the US, where it should be AND I'M A CANADIAN!!!!:thumbup:

The only thing better would be if it was made in Canada. :D

Sorry to hear we'll be waiting longer. It seems like Gianni thought what you had was an agreement to place an order, not an actual order. I hope Rowens D2 is as good as his 1095.

It's hard to say what this should be chalked up to.

I have no doubt that in the end this will be a good thing. I'm not in for the 3F but am looking forward to seeing the Izula Folder.

In all honesty, while initially disappointing, I think it's a good thing for all involved parties. Going forward, Gianni is welcome at our booth or on our forums anytime. I doubt we will ever do a knife with him but I really like him as a person. We simply have different ways of doing business ;)

I'm gonna throw my two cents in here and be done with it:

Nutnfancy should produce the folder.

Goodbye.

Jeff, Mike and the ESEE Mods,

I hope this setback doesn't effect how you guys do business on the forums. I am amazed at how informed you keep us (The end users) on the forum. I could understand that when something like this happens and you tout a knife line you could get frustrated and not want to put as much out in the future.

I just want to say, good luck to you all on this folder venture. You guys have an amazing business model and I'm proud of every ESEE/RAT that I own. Keep your chins up and push forward!

First off I hate to see someone back out on a deal.... BUT in this case I like it. This means that I can buy one of these now, as long as Jeff gets it made here in the USA....:D

Well, I guess we can look forward to both the 3-folder and the folding Izzy being US made!? I can't wait for either! (and the LS... and the stainless 4..... and a 3-mil in the future... does this list ever end?)

....... Again, no papwerwork. Just our words as honorable men.

I never answer because it is not my sub-forum.

You never confirmed me that you wanted give me the production. In these pages you have written several time that you would like to have an US producer. LionSteel task was only produce the samples.
You opened a poll in order to understand what Esee's users think about that, in spite of 82% were agree you did not confirm me nothing, but after that you have given the technical drawing to an user in order to have a quotations from a US company (we were already in 2011 !!! ).

I promised to produce the samples of this items in spite of knowing all of this, and in spite of you broke signed contract for the Hest folder. I have done them and brings to you within the ShotShow.

During the third days of the exhibition we had a good meeting (if you were in a hurry you could confirm me about your intention immediately when we met at your booth the first day).
In that meeting we spoke about the samples. I gave all my suggestion and all my experience. In that meeting you asked me how long time could take me produce 2.000 pieces. I answer June. But even in this time you did not confirm me the order, but you told me that you needed 4 weeks to decide.
Of course I shook your hand before going out from your booth, I shook it to all of them but in the same way that I shook it when I come in your booth. It is a polite way to say hello.

Sunday, when I was coming back to Italy you write me a mail informing me that you were going to send me an PO in four week.
During my first working day I immediately inform you about production problem.

My questions are:
If you would like to have lionSteel to produce your folders why you keeped me in this not clear position?
why did you inform esee customers before the producer?
why are you writting now that I do not respect my words?

I had from the first day the sensation that you would not use LionSteel. that one was my feelings.

So at the end I am very sorry that I have not the power to produce the Esee knives, maybe I am missing a great opportunity. But from the other side I can not guarantee you delivery time like you want this year...believe me, it would be much easier to accept the order and then delayed supplies, but I am not used to work in this way, not usefull for both company.

Sorry for my bad English but I hope that everyone understand my position.

I'm not disappointed by this at all. I would love for a USA stamp on it. Although, a shake means more then a contract in my family (one of the few left, I guess) I understand cultural differences..

I can wait for a tough D2 framelock from ESEE. I waited for the 3, 4, 5, and the Izula...I can wait...because Jeff and Mike along with Rowen have never disappointed me in the past! Believe me, the wait is always worth it. If I need a folder, I got umpteen different ones to EDC in the meantime, but prefer to tote my Izula.

I have no dog in this fight and I have nothing against Gianni, LionSteel, or Italy - but I'd far prefer a knife Made in the USA.

Secondly, I was wondering if or when this would resurface:
and in spite of you broke signed contract for the Hest folder

After reading both sides of the situation, I'm with Gianni on this one. Until a contract is signed there is no deal, only discussion. Given that Jeff indicated he needed 4 weeks to decide whether to go ahead with production, it appears quite clear that no final agreement was made at SHOT. ESEE gave the impression that time of production was an important factor and Gianni felt this would be very difficult if not impossible to meet given their workload.
