ESEE Arrowheads

I was just thinking, one of these would pack super flat on the back of a neck knife kit or taped to the bottom of the lid on a tin kit. Hmmmm.

Jeff,

I have to admit it, I thought that the topic was a joke, that you were kidding around about it... but after reading the thread, and thinking on the usefulness of having an arrowhead.... well damn, I will be adding a couple to my kits. :)

I like items like this because ya you could come up with a makeshift arrowhead or spear in the woods but that takes up a lot of time and energy. Also, in a survival situation or just messing around while camping you don't want to waste time making these items when its so simple to carry one of this size along. (plus this would work a hell of a lot better than a sharpened stick spear)

What a great idea, this is a perfect item for a survival kit. I guess I'll just have to get all three sizes so I'll always have the right sized spear to "native" with!

RAT Machete, RAT Backpack, RAT Arrowheads... Holy crap I need to get a second job.
Seriously, this is another great idea. I love the direction RAT Cutlery is heading, even though I will be much poorer because of it.

Alright, for once I'll be the one to start asking the stupid questions--Any thoughts on what the largest size will be? :p

I was thinking along the same lines.... RAT Cutlery isn't hiring, are they Jeff, ole buddy ole pal........

Jeff, I love this! If this is the type of product you meant when you posted about the Future of RAT, I am even more excited for the future. I can't wait to see what else you guys come up with. Thanks for sharing.

Awesome! That is the only "production survival arrowhead" that I have ever heard of.

I would really like to see some finished arrows or spears using that arrowhead -as it would be used in nature. I have never made a bow before, but from what I understand you want heart wood on the inside and sap wood on the outside. Would this also be used a spear head?

Lets see some primitive Bows!

Several mentioned a neck sheath.
I thought about this...
Just dip it in that Plasti-dip stuff!
Protects the arrow head from rust and when you need it just push the point against something to skin the coating off.
Plasti-dip comes in various colors and you could stick a few fish hooks in a piece of cardboard and dip the whole thing to protect them too. Maybe a cool thing to protect some of the smaller metal pieces of kit!

hmm, jeff those would make a nice charm. they would look really great hanging around the neck with some ratpack dog tags!

That's awesome. Have to put it on my next to buy list. As soon as they hit the dealers. Nice job guys.

Not stupid at all, the size 1 is about 13/16" wide. Size 2 will be 1 1/4" wide and size 3 I don't know yet.

I'll probably add a second hole myself if I want a rustic charm with some leather over it, but as-is I want a few of these for kits and unique uses.

Very cool. Can't wait for them to hit the dealers shelves. Probably won't stay on the shelves long. I'm imagining a 6 or 12 pack of arrow heads.

You have to experiment a little bit when you get them...remember...it's a drill bit, too. :D

Think hand (fire) drill...
