From the latest picture, it also looks like the spanner type fasteners have been ditched for flat heads.

Those will definitely make adjustments/tear-downs easier, but for some reason the looks of the first fasteners are more appealing to me.

I think screws will remain the same, although Jeff or RYP are the ones that can confirm this.

I would like to know about the pivot screw too. Will it be a flat head as shown in the pic by shotgunner11, or the type shown on the dpx website?

What I DO know, is that if (and from what I read, I am almost positive that it is the case) that all of the photos of the knife that are around are just computer renderings...then the man who does the renderings is some kind of wizard or something.

Seriously.

I know nothing of 3d CAD or whatever programs people use to do this stuff, but these renderings are some of the best that I have ever, ever seen.

I cant wait to see the proto/production photos, but MAN...these things look GREAT.

I'm guessing it's gonna be the type that's on the dpx website due to the fact that they're supplying a Mr. DPX tool, with the special wrench, with all of them.

This wizzard is called Tom (under Tomso two post above yours), and you're right he is scarily talented!

I think that pivot/tool is a minus :( Something extra to carry...

Thanks! Appreciate the words, mate.

I've followed these threads pretty closely so I don't think I missed it, but does anyone know what the blade coating is?

Even on the sterile blades, the renders show a gray colored blade.

dpxgear.com says ""MR DP" VERSION - Textured Patterned Titanium Carbide Coated D2 Blade with sandblasted Black G10 handle - Available in Right or Left Hand models"

"STERILE" VERSION - Numbered but with no Graphics or engraving Titanium Carbide Coated D2 tool steel Blade with sandblasted Black G10 handle - Available in Right or Left Hand models"

take it easy cricket

the scales are on one side only because of the titanium frame lock. instead of a liner lock which isn't as strong.

Thats why I carry my mini skirmish, love that titanium frame lock. Its been my pocket carry for 2 years. Looks like I most likely will have a new blade next year. Jezz I do hate to wait for things I want Now!! *sigh* enjoy. edgy:thumbup:

Does anyone know where the lanyard attaches to? I hear there is one included in with the knife, but the only thing I see is a bolt shaped hole on the G10 side. Is this for the lanyard, or tightening a bolt?

Must have gone up the day after I asked...sweet. Glad its offered in black as well.

I have a right hand carry one on order from Dale at getafreeknife.com. I am going to do a full scale review on it. May even slip the junk yard a $20 spot to bust some windows. :D
