ESEE Idiots - Round 2

Hey Jeff,If you don't hang that ESEE-3 with the Negative jimping condition on the wall send it my way I'll bushcraft it to death and give it a proper send off.I'll baton it through as much wood as it can take then I'll burn it on a huge pyre of batoned wood.Maybe it'll regain some dignity in death that it was robbed of in life.

We might just do that. The cut out ESEE-3 is classic though. That stays here and will go on the wall of the office. I might even put the guy's name on it and induct him into the dumbass hall of fame.

id make it the ESEE wall of SHAME!

This post has had me laughing all day!!!

The more I think about it, I think a sticky at the very least is in order

Someone please second the motion

I second that motion. It should have a pic of the knife or knives and the BF name of the dumb ass.

Mike

Crazy what people do to stuff and then want to cash in on the warranty. I seen this kind of abuse as a teenager when I worked at Sears and Wal-Mart. You should have seen some of the Craftsman tools that people brought in.

I was thinking when I saw the original photos that some of these abused blades could be lovingly reground to a new, useful shape. And I'm certain I wasn't the first to get that idea. Jeff, you might consider making some of these victims of abuse available to Pack members who have to make them useful in a positive way and post a photo of the result (if not a WIP thread). Some returns would take more creativity than others. ;)

As for the popular theme of public shaming, it does not seem to be in the character of ESEE's guarantee. I agree that it might feel emotionally satisfying to us who respect good steel, but it is probably more effective in the long run (and certainly better public relations) to graciously replace the blade. Not saying there shouldn't be politely worded education with the new blade; a lot of people need considerable education. My hat is still off to the ESEE crew.

Then again, thinking of that poor 3 with the huge notch in its spine, I don't know what to teach. Just replacing that knife probably taught more about character than that person had seen in a long time. Looking at that photo I'm convinced it was a male (won't say "man" since that implies character); it seems contrary to the nature of a woman to make something that ugly then let anyone else see it. :o

So, Jeff, what do you say to some equitable way of distributing these poor blades to creative Pack members? I would look forward to seeing their results!

/Steve/

We would never publicly shame one of these dumbasses by posting their name, although we will continue to post the "genius" work that they do. We simply replace the blades and move forward because you will never be able to fix stupid. :D

I didn't feel bad about it! Now I'm carrying your Izula and loving it.

Jeff, you honestly didn't carry an Izula around? What's your EDC? (if you don't mind me asking of course).

Great little tool.

WTF how come

Don't take it personal man, but it seems like there is someone trying to get his postcount up afap... Please stop spamming nearly all or old threads, it wont help you for the RatPack entrance (those post need to be "quality ones" and not just SPAM...)
