ESEE Izula folder (for real this time)

My guess is it will be 440 like the stainless Izula and the other stainless models. If the knife had come out years ago the following would have been greater. Now that we've been promised the knife for so long without delivery the hype is over.

It was easier to hype it when they still had a forum here! :)
Besides, they've already come out with 2 decent folders.

Which makes little sense. Kershaw, Buck, Benchmade, Spyderco all have great warranties also. Many of their products are also made here. So, again, I'm not understanding what the huge draw of this knife is.

Quiet, not like it is that important to me, as this is a folder, but Esee's warranty is vastly different than all those you mention.

But I do agree, it looks plain. I also wish it had one side of G10. The specs on this will determine if I look at getting one (price, steel, length). Oh and also if they actually ever come to market. I will care about the Izula Folder when they are on the shelves.

Why is everyone hating on 440C? And then touting 1095 over it? And in a folder no less... People want rusty pivots?

I was never really interested in the Izula folder so I don't really care either way.

I can see it already…Youtube videos after its release of some serious abusive testing…

Slab side:

Lock side:

These were photos from ESEE's booth at (I think) Blade, 2014.

IIRC, initial release will be Ti slabs, with G10 offered later.

I don't remember the blade steel. Give me ten minutes to search and I'll be back with an edit.....

Right. Found it. Jeff Randall says he hasn't made a decision on blade steel (as of June, '14), and the frame will be all Ti at first, with other scales being offered as replacements, in the same way as fixed Izula slab kits.

Release is supposed to coincide with SHOT Show, 2015, so if you're still on a pre-order list, start checking your email inbox.

I like the lines, but I had hoped that they would use G-10 scales. This thing looks slippery.

Titanium frame-locks are slippery? Gosh, I don't think so. My FAVORITE carry knives ALL have titanium scales. Love 'em.

JR: "In all honesty, the knife industry is about 99 percent bullshit. We sell knives every day to people who will never use them. Knife buying is more of a want than a need."

"the reason we designed this is because some mall ninja would think it's cool and spend money on it."

So new and tacticool of Jeff Randall, pass on this one.

If you happen to be in Las Vegas, you may want to place your bet before midnight tonight. ;)
