Which makes little sense. Kershaw, Buck, Benchmade, Spyderco all have great warranties also. Many of their products are also made here. So, again, I'm not understanding what the huge draw of this knife is.
It was easier to hype it when they still had a forum here!
Besides, they've already come out with 2 decent folders.
JR: "In all honesty, the knife industry is about 99 percent bullshit. We sell knives every day to people who will never use them. Knife buying is more of a want than a need."
"the reason we designed this is because some mall ninja would think it's cool and spend money on it."
So new and tacticool of Jeff Randall, pass on this one.
None of those companies come close to ESEE's warranty. They are all good but ESEE is by far superior.
haha.... ive read the threads from as far back as 2010 saying it was the time as well. We shall see!
"NO QUESTIONS ASKED WARRANTY:
If you break it, we will replace it. Warranty is lifetime and transferable. In other words, we warranty the knife no matter how many times it's been traded, sold or given away - no sales receipt or proof of purchase required.
A lot of folks have asked us how we can stay in business offering such great customer service and warranty protection. The answer is simple; we believe that American consumers, as a whole, are honest people. The occasional customers who are dishonest are few and far between, so even if we lose every once in a while due to dishonesty, our reputation of great customer service, regardless of the situation, brings us more good customers.
ESEE KNIVES ARE NOT THROWING KNIVES! They are hardened to a higher Rockwell than throwing knives and will most likely break if thrown, possibly harming the user. So, do yourself and your ESEE knife a favor and DO NOT throw it. Using any knife not meant to be thrown as a throwing knife is idiotic! We would rather idiots not buy our knives.
Note: We do not warranty our 440C Stainless Steel knives from abuse. It should be noted that 440C is not as flexible as our carbon steels. Any excessive flexing will cause the knife to break.
We do not warranty against rust or normal wear and tear. Our carbon steel knives are made from 1095 High Carbon Steel. And while 1095 is a top choice for professional field knives, it will rust and stain if not properly cared for - especially on the cutting edge and around the laser engraving. It is the user's responsibility to keep the blades properly lubricated and cleaned. We suggest a dry film inhibitor such as TUF-GLIDE or TUF-CLOTH. We use a baked on powder coat on all of our coated knives. It is normal for the coating to wear with use.
NOTE: The warranty does not apply to the Lite Machete since the blade of the machete is made by Imacasa in El Salvador. With that said, if you have any issues with the Lite machete, contact us and we will do our best to make it right.
You must complete this form and return it with your knife. You must email us a tracking number and the reason you are returning the knife for warranty repair/replacement. The knife must be returned using a Priority Mail Box. We suggest you email us before returning the knife since we do not warranty normal wear and tear.
Randall's Adventure & Training only guarantees and offers customer service on knives built by ESEE Knives (Formerly RAT Cutlery Company) and any knife manufactured by RAT Cutlery Company before the name changed to ESEE Knives. Randall's Adventure & Training does not guarantee or offer any customer service for knives that are manufactured by any other company. Randall's Adventure & Training does not guarantee or offer a warranty on any knife manufactured by Ontario Knife Company. Please view the history page for more information."
This logic could apply on almost everything... living is overrated.
ESEE has a nice warranty but it's filled with too many "buts".
No it isn't. It's great, compare ESSE's warranty to almost any other production knife company. ESEE has way fewer "buts", I can pretty much guarantee it. The only "buts" are for the Lite Machete. The rest of the lineup is 1000000% covered by the warranty.

Eat that "guarantee" when you read the words:
That nonsense about throwing is just that, nonsense.
Hmm... Busse and Scrapyard and Swamp Rat warranty their knives (and axes, etc.) against throwing, and they warranty 154CM and Elmax and D2 models (and INFI which is actually pretty corrosion resistant). Survive! doesn't include any language in their warranty against throwing and also offers models in stainless steels... Any such wording in the BRKT warranty? (although tradition holds that damaging any BRKT is your own fault however it happened)
So ESEE's warranty only covers under-hardened cheap spring-steel but declares you an idiot if it breaks during tasks which shouldn't break any knife of such build. Those 2 things alone are big enough "buts" to turn me elsewhere. Face it, Becker and Buck and Gerber and the rest all offer fairly comparable warranties to ESEE given how the warranty is worded and executed. Buy'em because they're well-made or because you like the design and the price isn't as high as some. But the warranty - that's only good if the knife fails you.
I'm not here to convert you into an ESEE fan. It all comes down to personal preference. I personally love ESEE knives. An ESEE was my first "nice" knife. I feel confident in their warranty, it allows me to use them without reservations. That is part of the appeal for me. I like the fact that they have confidence in their tools. They are also less expensive then Busse and the majority of other competitive options.
I have no experience with the Stainless line of knives or Lite Machete. However, I own almost their entire line-up of carbon steel blades. They are fantastic! There is nothing "cheap" about them. You're way off base with your accusations. Thousands of customers can attest that ESEE knives are more than capable for any challenge. Unless my comprehension skills are deceiving me; ESEE, will replace the knife even if broken by means of throwing. I don't understand why you brought it up. It holds no merit. They are being professional and warning you to the fact that the knife wasn't designed for that task. I agree with what they have written. If you throw and ESEE knife you are an "idiot". A cheap set of throwing knives Will perform exponentially better.
You brought Gerber and buck into the conversation. For being so picky about ESEE's use of 1095, or "Cheap spring steel"; you make no mention of the alphabet soup used in most knives produced by Gerber and buck.
I specifically said "production" knives. I figured someone would bring up Busse and her sister companies. I don't know about you but I wouldn't consider Busse to be the typical "production" knife company.
