ESEE Junglas!

I have an rtak ii and I've a hard time believing it's 30 oz. I've seen it listed as that, but I wonder if that's a packed shipping weight. Just feels lighter than that.

Yeah, I couldn't find any official weight for it. Nutnfancy claims that's what it weighs in his table top review, but he could have been including the sheath as well.

I heard from a reliable source that they are waiting on the cordura/MOLLE sheath backing and it may be a few more weeks until the Junglas ships.

You sir are correct! I got a email just 3 days ago stating the same thing my eyes are just starting to dry up some:o

I like the original RTAK1 design better, personally-trying to hunt one of those down for a reasonable price. I may have to give Newt Livesay a call and see if he can do a blast from the past for me. It's just so much more rugged looking, the refined versions look like big kitchen knives or any other chopper design out there. The RTAK1 screams, "I will cut down this entire forest just to lop your head off!" and will make the sheeple flee like quail before a coyote pack. If I can gather the money before all this new RAT stuff ships, I may just buy a Wildertools Bushkeeper instead... my lonely HB tomahawk needs a killin' partner.

I prefer the RTAK II to the original. I like the handle better.

Oh god I just bought an ontario RTAK for $100 off ebay why would I do that I can't afford it.

because it's AWESOME! now you can go rob somebody with your badass 100 dollar knife. For liability reasons only, I do not recommend that last statement...

Newt can make them, he has some old stock left for the RTAK and makes one close the lak-4. But this is a different maker and not ESEE. Although they did work on some knives together and even worked in So. America together I think. Their logos even look oddly similar!

it just looks too... finished to me, to be a bad boy beater. too many curvy lines, I like the original blade shape and pommel the best. I know the handle is supposedly more comfortable but if it comes down to it I will round them out with 220 grit sandpaper, no biggie. I'm working on a trade that will hopefully nail me one for a pretty good deal, but if not I'll give Newt a call.

Blah, blah, blah, Newt, blah RTAK I, II blah....

Give me the Junglas, I have a bunch of knives but that one with my RC-5 is all the medicine for a FUBAR situation any man could ever need....and maybe a S&W 627...

Aye my RC5 is my designated beater as well, definately my go to knife. I don't see what Newt's huge rant was about with the handle, it looks nothing like the LAK4...

Arrowhead ordered [check]
