A slice of heaven....Went for an outdoors lunch with Grim today.
Drizzling all morning so brought my tarp.
Also had the Opinel saw, Firebox Nano and the Esee 3 in my pack.
Walked through beaver territory...
Pretty sure grim could smell them all over the place.
First I cut some tent pegs (sorry for the lack of focus)
Setup my tarp in a plow point with an extra tie out in the middle to create some extra height inside
Grim approved
Split some wood to feed the stove
Some curls to get the fire blazing in no time
There we go
Put my mug on the stove and cut some fresh gingerroot for tea
Then we wait
And snack...
Yay, boiling water
And we have tea
The some eggs
And... lunch time
Don't they look delicious?
Time to go home again, we had a good time out.

I'm going to pick up an ESEE 3 next week. I've got a super easy hiking trip we are planning over spring break, and I'm thinking that a handy stout little blade would be more than enough. I like my 5 a lot, but it's too much knife most of the time when you are talking about walking on well marked trails.
