Esnyx Custom Knives

This amazing piece just came back from Evan's shop. Re-covered in pre-ban elephant ivory. The pictures do not even do it justice. In person, this thing is gleaming! Thanks Evan!

These are incredible.

Posted more pics on the 15 thread before I knew this one existed, just arrived. Beautiful work of art!

^ that's an awesome knife. I'm glad you got it because the time was approaching very quickly for me to snag it up. Congrats!!

That is some beautiful work, Drew. The only knife I have that's even close to that Maple Burl is my Box Elder Burl by Todd Davison, and that's sayin something! Evan's work is stunning!

Thanks guys I appreciate the comments. Funny how you can value something so much that you have only had for hours. But truly Evan is carrying on the tradition of fine knives for this generation. Many thanks to him.

I just got this teaser WIP pic from Evan, of the honker of a knife he's working on for me

That is going to be awesome Philllll! Looking good Evan! Can't wait to see the finished product!

Thanks guys! :D

It's a traditional pruner with a twist. The antler that the covers came from was massive. I think it's from a red deer. This knife has been a long time in the making, with lots of brainstorming and studying my collection of old pruners.

I like that blade shape! Hawkbill? I thought it was going to be a pruner like the two NYKC Hammers that I own. Are you putting a nail nick in the blade?

I'm not sure what to call the blade. I wanted a straight edge instead of the usual curved edge hawkbill pruning blades. Sort of a fat sheepfoot.

Camelfoot?

We're going with no nail nick. The blade will be pinchable.

Holy mackerel! Pretty near a two hander!!
You've heard of elephant toenails? That's the whole foot!
With buttcap! They are hard to fit properly!
Nice going Evan!

...
The first thing I thought when I saw the initial photo was, "Yowza, they must have captured a DOUS (deer of unusual size) to have antlers big enough to get slabs like that!" Is that baby going to Blade Show for demo purposes?

Evan, you should stamp a T-Rex into the bolster and call it the Jurassic Pruner since it's a Dino-sized knife! ...Haha, just kidding, that would look just silly.
