Thanks y'all. The wood is indeed ebony, and the blade steel is 1095.

I'm not sure on the dimensions. I will be able to measure it tomorrow.

Wow...love the teardrop Evan. I like the swedge.

Question....are you able to do a matchstrike pull?

Not yet. Honestly, I have no clue how I could make one with my tools. I would need a mill or something...

Paul - What a beautiful and interesting shadow pattern. That tweed was a very unique choice (whether yours or Evan's).

Jack and Primble - I respect and appreciate seeing the educated point of view of two pillars of this corner of BF. I respect and appreciate even more the manner of mature professionalism that you both exuded. I have to agree with Primble's comment about the lighting, but I do love seeing Evan's work (and diverse capabilities) showcased in one package.

Phil - That EO tear-drop makes my mouth water. I love the clean lines and the choice of finishes (again whether yours or Evan's) is terrific. The flat contrast of the ebony against the polished bolsters and blade speaks to my taste loudly.

and finally Evan - What can I say that hasn't already been expressed? I came into this traditionals forum not knowing what to expect from the people or the world of (modern) production and custom traditionals. I was very pleased with the warm reception I received here and the surprising quality that Case, GEC, Northwoods, Tuna Valley, and others are producing. Then I discover these jaw-dropping aftermarket modified knives that consist of these elegant and rare covers or brass and copper hardware as well as tool combinations that really interested me. Bottom line, Evan you were at the center of that revelation for me. I am so excited to see a new maker bring out his first one off creations with such terrific quality and warm reception. Your No. 1 looks outstanding in my opinion as does Paul's Mini Soddie and Phil's Tear-drop. It is a pleasure to know you and to have example of your work in my collection. I look forward to seeing where your venture will go. Cheers my friend.

Thank you sir :)

Oh my Lord, Evan and Philllll, that bullet-end is just fantastic!!! AMAZING work!!

Amazing work, Evan, especially given the very basic tools you work with.
I think Tony Bose started out on his kitchen table, with a wheel on a washing machine motor!
Willpower triumphs!!

WOW! Thank you for the wonderful comments and compliments everyone!

Landon, that was heartfelt and touching post. I am honored and proud that my work helped solidify your interest in traditionals!

Mike, Mark, Dan, and Charlie, thank you for the compliments! Indeed, willpower does triumph! Luckily I was able to get my hands on a real grinder before I begin my next batch! There is only room for improvement!

Stay tuned! Someone should be receiving an unexpected package this Saturday!

This came in the mail late yesterday; an amazing custom gunstock barlow with bookmatched stabilzed redwood burl scales, steel frame and bronze bolster. It's a real beauty; check it out!

It's pinchable so no nick, yet still has more than adequate spring tension. The carbon steel sheepfoot blade was my request, otherwise the knife is all Esynx. A very cool and unusual piece that I really love. Thanks Evan!

Amazing knife, Barry! That Redwood Burl is beautiful!
Nice going Evan!!
What is the size, Barry?
