Esnyx Custom Knives

Yours turned out really great Barry! I love the redwood burl.

I just snapped this photo of mine to show how nicely centered the blade is when closed.

Thanks for the compliments everyone!

I'm glad you like it, bud! Nice pictures too!

Is that ice on the ground?!? I keep forgetting that it's cold everywhere else... lol

That is a sweet gunstock jack Barry. Evan does it again. This is going to be an amazing thread in a few months considering how epic it is starting.

Evan, this is fantastic to see such original work. I'm so impressed. I can't wait for mine to cross the ocean! :)

This came in the mail late yesterday; an amazing custom gunstock barlow with bookmatched stabilzed redwood burl scales, steel frame and bronze bolster. It's a real beauty; check it out!

It's pinchable so no nick, yet still has more than adequate spring tension. The carbon steel sheepfoot blade was my request, otherwise the knife is all Esynx. A very cool and unusual piece that I really love. Thanks Evan!

This needed to go on to the next page! :D

Just Gorgeous!

It arrived.

Beautiful work Evan, the composite looks fantastic.

Here are some comparison picks for those who are interested;

With a Vic electrician;

With a buck 303 (which it is of an identical closed length)

And the blades are the same length too, but I love the deep belly on such a small knife.

Paul

Congratulations Paul, I'm glad that beauty made it, hope Customs didn't sting you too badly. That belly should come in handy when you and the youn 'un are pulling trout out of the loch my friend :) :thumbup:

Glad she made it there safely, Paul!

How did you like the extra surprise?!?

It was very nicely done my friend. It's interesting to see the difference in the colour of the tweed when it's become resin.

--- Evan included a beautiful hand made sheath lined with the tweed he used to make the handle slabs. I'll post photos when I get a spot of sunshine again (a rare Hebridean occurrence during winter).

Thanks Evan :)

Evan and I made a trade just a short while back, he was responsible for me being able to procure a "Days Work" Yellow bone TC Barlow:thumbup:

I collect as many as the TC Barlows as I can afford. Now I tend to favor a two blade, for whatever reason I do. I received a gorgeous single Spey blade from Evan but leaned towards a two blade for more than one reason---Evan said, I can put a clip in it for you?

Then the gears began to turn in my head, which for the most part ends up pretty well---not all the time but for the most part:D Well I thought I have a Crown Lifter that simply doesn't get carried as often as it should.....so what if Evan were to put in the caplifter blade as the secondary blade:o I consulted Evan and he said something like---should work and if not I can make it work.

So I hurriedly mailed off the Crown Lifter and Single Spey "Day's Work" to Evan. I thought the low lying nail nicks would look nice and I use the screwdriver blade often.

Then I began to think, is this the right thing to do, should I go with the Clip? Well, I emailed Evan and not only is he highly SKILLED he is very quick---he returned my email saying that he was already done BUTif I wanted the Clip he would dis-assemble and replace the cap lifter with a Clip. He had sent pictures and once I saw it I knew that's what I wanted, Spey & Cap Lifter:thumbup:

Evan, you are great to deal with, you have endless skills and are MORE than accommodating:thumbup:

I LOVE the way this turned out and it's definitely going to be a great work knife:thumbup:

Congrats on your "new" knife, Paul; it looks like a ray of sunshine :D
