Estwing made a double bit axe and a tomahawk!

Going to have to have one of those blue doublebit axes !! Axgirl please keep us imformed of when the go to the stores.
I ave beat the crap out of an old 22 oz framing hammer for 20 plus years and it is still going strong , Plumbers tend to be rough on hammers
Roy

Yes, Axgirl!. Please do!! :D

Somebody above asked about a sheath. I hope it comes with one, but see no mention of it on the site. That's always an issue to me.

Hey 42, maybe you could offer an upgraded version, or significantly upgraded tomahawk version of the Estwing rigger's hatchet?:D You know some of them hatchets were born tomahawks on the inside, they're just waiting to be stripped down of that excess steel.

I'll donate a Rigger for him to practice on...

Well, I've used a hatchet, hammer or sledge for 35+ years...mostly Estwing except for a framing hammer which has always been a True Temper Rocket.

I see them as golf clubs, you don't need each one everyday but when you need that special one, I want it to be there.

Pretty sure I can take apart an entire concrete and tile bathroom with 4 Estwing products, screw driver and a drywall knife.

I'll through the double bit in for splitting wire lathe and chopping out blocking.
I also like the above mentioned option of 2 different bevel angles for course and fine chopping.

That kind of mod would take more time and effort than I reasonably have to spare, so don't hold your breath. :p Touching up the edge is one thing but cutting away at the bit is another entirely.

Form setters are rougher on hammers than any other trade. You see a lot of Estwings in that crowd.

True, im on my 2nd in 15 years. The first had to be retired because the waffles where gone and the claw was so worn it wouldnt hold nails anymore.

I should mention that it lasted 10 times longer than any other hammer ive been around though and even works as a hatchet for starting fires in the colder months.

Sadly though one of my guys uses a wooden hammer right now, he was a carpenter before and even though he is on handle number 4 in 3 years he still stubbornly clings to his wooden framing hammer.

God...
Ain't that the truth!!!
If you really want to know, a lot of people collect novelty things just because they like doing so. They don't necessarily have to serve a purpose.
I have a few knives that I never want to use because I just like them so much, but I also have a few knives that I DO use.
To each their own

So I guess you are saying, "No, they are primarily for novelty purposes." Nothing wrong with that. To each his own.

I prefer my "novelty" toys to not be so ugly. :D
Interesting mod potential though.
