Last time I played on his grinder his belt selection was all pretty worn. His grinder is the shit though! :thumbup: I'm gonna have one of those some day.

I was afraid of that. Maybe I'll just bring a basic selection and a bar of steel to play with... if anyone's interested in practicing grinds, that is.

Actually... that might be kinda fun! Has there ever been a grind-in at Ethan's? If anyone's interested in grinding their first small knife, let me know. Steel is cheap and if you're willing to wait a few weeks, I could just include them in my next HT batch. There will be at least one highly-skilled professional knifemaker there to provide guidance... also, me :D

Sadly, I've misplaced Ethan's phone number. Someone should run this idea past him and see if he's into it.

If Ethan likes the idea of a grind-in one afternoon, and there is genuine interest in it, I'll be happy to do whatever I can to help :)

I wonder if one can be arrested for a GUI (grinding under the influence)? If so I personally break that law nearly every evening. :thumbup:

I could never get a sharp knife with my lansky. Maybe I need a new system, or new stones. I am bringing it along and maybe someone can show me the error of my ways.
 
So I decided to tell the wife yesterday while driving to dinner that I was gonna go on a little trip next month.

She was like where?

I was like out of state.

She's like with who?

Oh just some guys from the internet.

She said what???

Im like yea just camping. No big deal. Gonna be real fun.

She was like are you serious?? Camping with some strangers from the internet?? That's really creepy babe!!!

Haha! Yea, I never told her I was active on any forums and she doesn't really know how many knives I have and that I spend most of my free time cutting stuff up with, sharping and stropping them, or modding them. I only bring out a couple at a time and lock the rest up in the garage so she doesn't think I have a knife addiction or anything. So let's just say she was really shocked when I told her about my plans for a camping trip that involves a bunch of people who love knives and outdoors as much as me.

Once I explained who Ethan Becker was and that it wasn't just some creepy guy's house from the internet she was actually pretty cool about it and now wants me to go! But man y'all should have seen her face at first. She didn't know what I was getting into!!

Well anyway, looks like I've got the green light and am going for sure!!! So excited!

Gonna be sleeping in my hammock so y'all save me a couple of nice trees to set up in!
