Ethan's Gathering May 16,17,18 Signup

I'd love to come but can't take leave at those times and fly down. Maybe next time!
Maybe I can even host one up here in the Adirondacks!
PS: Make a thread with a bunch of images of the gathering! It'd be great to see.

Hey Guys, I'm trying to pack for the trip and I am trying to minimize what I bring. Guess I will leave most of my knives at home except a few of my heavily modded ones.

Got my dog a backpack yesterday since I might take her with me. Is anyone else bringing dogs besides Gus?

Just wondering about the accommodations? I am assuming there are no showers and stuff cause Ethan probably doesn't want 20 to 30 people in his personal space? lol
So are there bathrooms or do I need to bring my shovel and find a spot in the woods?

Also are most of you gong to be shooting, I think I saw somewhere he had a range or something set up? I was thinking about bringing a couple hand guns and some ammo if some of you are as well?

Just trying to get a feel of how things will be so I can pack accordingly.

Also, What is the weather like? I am guessing I will be fine with just my Hammock set-up and the green Bag from my MSS? Don't think I need the bivy either?

Thanks in advance for any input and answers!

Hey Dex.......

You can leave the shovel........ Bring stuff to add to the communal breakfast, and lunch stuff, snacks and other incidental comestibles, beverages and ice.......... I try to have enough water for everyone...... Lows have been in the sixties..... Highs in the eighties...... I cook, thankfully with a lot of help from the diners........ I think we are gonna do a large chunk of roast beast on Trade's new extra spiffy and wonderful new spit on Friday with a side of mediterranian beans....... Saturday will de a pork loin stuffed with herbs, butter and garlic (also done on Trade's wonderful machine)with a side of polenta (cheese grits Italienne)...... Desserts are what you bring........

I just went up to the Beckerhead camp with a list....... A little chain saw work needs be done so Murph can access his camp.... The exterior sanitary facility has been blown free of cobwebs and restocked.........Checked on Camp Gus and it looks plenty OK ........Gotta replace a couple of target stands ..... One kinda disappeared after session with tannerite...... Good time that......

Gotta get some more firewood up there.......Plenty in stock..........

The excitement is building........ Gonna be lotsa fun....... Woot Woot.......

Saturday Night A 20 percent chance of showers. Partly cloudy, with a low around 48.
Sunday Mostly sunny, with a high near 73.

outstanding! been looking forward to this all winter.
Will prepare for possible mud and the "R" word.
Putting the finishing touches on my contribution to the impending cirrhosis of the community tomorrow.
now it's off to pack.

so...handguns are ok? man, loading up sharpened steel and plinkers for a weekend sounds like a lot of fun!

handguns are OK - up to the point where you touch an adult beverage.
booze + bangstick = Becker Mtn ban.

roger roger. booze is for after hours, gotcha.

Morning cocktails are not necessarily unheard-of. They just won't let you fire guns if you've been drinking. :) *

Weather is going to be awesome.

Highs in the low 70's. Lows in the mid 40's.

That's what my sources say as well - as of today. Bring long pants and a light jacket for night-time. That's a bit cooler than I prefer it, but way better than a million degrees and insane humidity, though...

*for those that plan to participate in the Grind-In on Saturday, please also remain sober while we're using power tools. :)

Wait what?

I know, I know... it sounds crazy, right? But there will be normal people and civilians and possibly even children present, and at least some of it will probably be photographed and video'ed... We have to at least pretend to be sane and responsible about it. :(

:D

My Neighbor gave us about 30 Dozen "Farm Fresh" eggs, should we bring some for breakfast? How many? We can scramble them up and put the in zip-locs and freeze 'em.

That's a pretty good plan. There is really no such thing as too many eggs at a thing like this. If you bring 'em, someone will cook 'em. And if someone cooks 'em, I assure you, someone will eat them :)

Yeah......Bracken riding wasn't for me........

Or was it.........
