Ethan's Spring Gathering May 18,19,20

Horseshoe pitchin anyone? I could bring a set if the good ol' boys in TN dont have any LOL

Spending a few hours tossing steel at poles is hi-quality fun in my book. 'Course that could just be the hillbilly in me talkin...

Don't where you'll find space, but if the hosts ok it I'm down for shoes.

I'm going to have to spend some time with the .22's this next month.
I'm not certain I can even SEE a dum-dum sucker at 75 yards with iron sights, much less hit it...

OK are we shooting 75 or 100 people want to know.

The most distance we can get, is 75yds, and we're gonna have to empty out the community area to shoot it, so.......

Most shooting will be done around the 15, 25, and 50 meter mark.

I'm going to try to put together some fun shoots, and we'll do a small competition. Maybe, we'll see.

I don't own the place, so I'm not gonna say "no full bores", but if half as many people show up as say they will, we're gonna be in close quarters on the hill top community area. We practice strict range rules, and there is ALWAYS a range master on duty. As a courtesy, we clear the line, and announce ready to fire, as soon as the OK is given, we light'em up.

We are still getting the details hashed out, so, bear with us, we'll update as we move forward.

Horseshoes are fine by me, and damn fun. There is room for an impromptu set of pits, so.........

Food is still being debated, but swine is probably gonna be the meat of choice. Whether wild or domestic, there will most likely be pork over the heat.

More to come, feel free to drop more suggestions, but don't be offended if they don't get picked up.

I motion that Murph takes his monthly shower immediately prior to the gathering this year. All in favor?

Alright, to be serious, two suggestions. First off, we had planned on having a trade blanket, and it seems we never got around to it (although since I left early last time there is a chance it happened after I was gone) so what say we actually shoot for something like that this time? Second, those upstarts from the West Coast put all their knives on display for a pic and have made a laughing stock of us. I say we give them a taste of their own medicine and show them "what fer"!

With that said, I hereby return the thread to it's standing question of the suggestion pertaining to Murph and his bathing habits.

Ok, I'll talk to E today sometime, I think we got lunch today or something. I know he's getting ready for PWYP, which, is a major ordeal for Uncle Weirdbeard if you didn't know.

Anyways, I'm thinking we might be a little more laid back on this one (like we're so uptight on the others, anyhoo), more of a meet and greet.

Trade blanket, I think should happen first, that way if anyone picks up any new toys, the get a chance to play with them unabashed.

Food, I always say, bring enough for yourself and your group, but everyone always brings enough food to feed Cox's Standing Army, so, pack your mules as you wish.

We will have facilities on the hilltop, potable water for washing dishes and whatnots, but showers, no. Think more wipe downs than anything.

Weather will be hot, with cool damp mornings. If the averages hold, 80's in the day, 50's of the night.

I think I can make it this year. Long drive from Colorado but worth It.

which route you planning and what kind of vehicle?
if you're going across on I-70, it's possible you, me, and psyop could carpool it.

and we'll be having something extra special planned for this one also.

People, I work hourly. I don't have the money for these lavish "monthly baths" y'all can afford. I'm still on the quarterly plan. 1 bath every 3 months. You don't have to stand down wind.

Try a "white tornado". Strip off, lay in the bed of the pickup and run it through the car wash. Intense yet effective. Skip the hot wax though....
