First off , Thanks Derek....
I had to be hauled kicking, threatening (Ok, I was screaming too) into doing this foum....Part of it was extreme ignorance of using computers and part was----a WTF is a forum......
What has evolved is what I wanted if I had had any idead what I wanted.....
I love cutlery, and my love for it grows apace after almost SIXTY FREAKING years.....My first knives were terrible by todays standards and I LOVED them.and when I got my first hawk I was in ecstacy .......Got it mail order from an ad in a comic book...14.95 plus s&h........It cost me three weeks of practicing the piano and I HATED the piano......Worth every second......I had no idea how to sharpen them and very little ability to use them........SOOOOOO the tone of helpfullness here is really, really good.........Well, at least it makes me very happy........I love the fact that we celebarate good cutlery here....And not just Beckers......
What also makes me very damn happy is the relatively kindly tone with noobies......God knows I was one once and would have given a lot for the kind of help that is passed out here......You guys are great.......I have also had a brew or too and am getting a wee bit maudlin.......So I will shut up and go to bed....
