This is the exact same knife as mine. The blade does not look to be the same shape as the Eureka Jack's Spear. Anyone else seeing this, or am I crazy?

2Dead's examples have a taper toward the tang. Mine have parallel lines to the Spear point.

Nice study of the Eureka Jack, Rob!!

Here is a old and worn but useful Empire;

Here's the Wharncliffe I sold. The new owner was delighted... Sigh! I Begin to need a single Spear now:D

Primble the knife you showed as a starter looks like it has a really deep crocus like polish,this goes particularly well with wood scales. You kno what? They should unleash another exciting run of these unusual knives, Northfield with Barehead e.g. Or Galvanic singles:thumbup:

Oh no Will! Man (beer) down! Help!

The Wharnecliffe in Micarta is one of my favorites. I modified the kick on mine to get a more reduces closed profile; I'm pretty good at refinishing but didn't take into account the geometry so now the Backspring rides a hair low when closed and a hair high when open...doesn't bother me but I realized mods on Trad knives isn't quite as simple as the moderns I've collected for the last decade.

I agree Will. I would love to see a new run of these. Nice pic of the Wharncliffe model. :thumbup::)

Charlie - wonderful old examples, as usual for you. Thanks for the contributions ! :thumbup::thumbup::)

Philllll - beautiful OVB !!! :thumbup::thumbup::)

I think the Galvanic runs from GEC were inspired by the NYKC bare-head example, much like the wonderful old knife Gevonovich posted. Not surprising, knowing the fellows that put in the order. :)

The eureka jack is my favorite pattern. I think GEC nailed this pattern with the Talon. I love the Galvanic edition with Catt. ebony wood scales, I wish I could lay a hand on one.
In the meantime here is my 92, sees a lot of pocket time.

There is also sad side to my story, last year I have ordered an eureka jack from Esnyx, I even went into the trouble of finding see cow fossilized bone for scales. The knife came out great..... but lost in the mail. Here is a photo

That is a very nice collection Trand. :thumbup::thumbup::)

Thanks Primble!! I love the look of the grain in this pic!!

I just want to SCREAM every time Trand posts this pic because those JBFChamplin's are so AWESOME!!!!! ;)

Thanks Shaggy. If you're a fan of the JBFs, I hope you like these 2 pics as well. Btw, this stag is the fattest, gnarliests stag I ever got.

Wow, you guys are showing some great stuff here!

I gave away my only Eureka besides this pair......

Great pair Mark!!

Beautiful knives Charlie!!

Need to re-up my membership so I can post pics of my #92 Eureka Jack in Ebony. Probably one of my favorite patterns, and favorite traditional knife. I love the fact mine is bareheaded & has no shield. I really need to pick up a single blade version, but I really like the secondary blade the jack version comes with. If I do get a single blade I'll be looking at the Rosewood or Moss Green jigged bone.

Those Galvanic versions are outstanding.
