There is no "clear understanding" of anything other than what a bunch of people have posted here. If you tell a story enough times, it must be true.......There are no real facts from the source, ie from Cold Steel or GSM, about whats actually going on. Nobody has as of yet really verified what the "kid on the phone" said as fact or even who he was. That doesn't mean anybody is lying, it means the facts are not known. Changing contact info doesn't mean anything other than the contact info has changed to reflect new ownership, nothing more.... It doesn't mean that everything in California has ceased to exist overnight. Nobody here really knows the circumstances under which that video was produced or the direction the company will go. Until such facts emerge, put down the pitchforks and torches and step back from the keyboard.....
Ol' hand caught in the cookie jar too soon.It did but they switched it back.

Just pulled this off the website. I don’t see a warranty term anywhere. I suppose it could be considered a lifetime warranty if you interpret the phrase “If you are ever...”.
That's just not true. I watched the video. I listened. Among other things LCT noted that GSMO could provide financial and technical resources to CS -- resources which are required to grow and prosper, which CS could not realize on its own. He mentioned that CS will be able to achieve a level of success with GSMO's help, which it wouldn't be able to do in something like 100 years sans the help.
All that has been posted is rumor and innuendo, jumping to conclusions based vague assumptions, no real facts....of course ownership has changed, but do you have any real facts to offer on this change of ownership? Statements from Cold Steel or GSM for instance? When or if you have something real to offer other than guesses don't be afraid to post it ....I see that the warranty thing was a non issue, how much else is just fear mongering by children that have had their lollipops taken from them? Maybe we should get some facts before burning the place to the ground.....discuss the sale all you like but until the facts are presented by either the new owners or the previous owner you won't have a clue what any of it really means.....
Lol. Define "level of success" and "grow and prosper."![]()
And kudos to you for trying to add something other than speculation.By calling the office, twice, and trying to do research, I'm doing my best to bring some facts to the discussion so that we can form opinions based on as much information as we can gather. Cold Steel sure isn't providing much.
Well, here's an announcement by Gridiron Capital just weeks ago announcing that it has purchased GSM, which owns Cold Steel.

Hope you like crow.
You're wrong again. When it was being talked about, it was a fact. The warranty page on Cold Steel's site was updated to the same one year warranty as all the other GSM brands. It was changed back today.
I'm glad it changed back and hope it stays that way but doubt it will for too long.
There are no "facts as we know them"......the facts are not known about anything."I don't believeEli Chaps when he said that someone told him everyone had been let go, but let me just say the "facts aren't known".
Virtually everything you have said here is not supported by the facts as we know them.

My question to you is: soooooo....do we think GSM paid for everyone who works at the Ventura office to move to Irving, TX or nah?

"LOL." Almost certainly greater than your own.

Gee, an announcement that Cold Steel has been acquired by GSM which was then acquired by Gridiron.....tell us something we don't already know......got any other late breaking news for us? Such as information about how the take over will be handled moving forward? Do let us know......
Then it wasn't a fact really, just placeholder information until a decision was made by the new owners. Most likely everything involving Cold Steel was placed at a corporate default status until things get settled. We'll find out soon enough.....
There are no "facts as we know them"......the facts are not known about anything.
Once again we don't know the facts here. Nobody does. We don't know if the warehouse facility will be maintained there or not. If there is an operational warehouse full of inventory do you really think it will be closed overnight?
About the warranty, I just got this a few minutes ago from this link - https://www.coldsteel.com/warranty-info - that posted is above
