Ever impressed with a inexpensive knife?

Bot the same knife at Wally World for $40.

I also think this one is a good value:
Camillus 8" Carbonitride Titanium Folding Wide Blade Knife with Ergonomic Handle

Aus 8 reverse tanto blade (mine came Very Sharp) and it's a frame lock.

I used a two dollar Frost Panther Creek to remove a roofing nail from a tire on the roadside. It chewed and nicked the edge pretty badly but I knew it would. Got the job done though.

Get them while you can - the Kershaw Zing, RJ Martin design, Made in the USA, light and small while not being too small, <$40 street ;) You can get them in black scales and a Tanto blade too. The Tanto doesn't have the striations. This IS my summer EDC when wearing beltless shorts. The blade stock is not super thin either - that helps the flipper deployment a great deal. As cheap as they are, mine functions like a $200 knife as far as flipper action, lockup and overall one-handed operation goes. Just a fantastic light carry in all respects.

They are being discontinued and I'm surprised by that, very surprised.

Reeek: What IS that? I'm not much for Kershaw (Don't like bead blasts) but that looks pretty nice.

Yes, I've been impressed by less expensive knives many times. The Ladybug and Manbug from Spyderco spring to mind, as does my Case Sodbuster.

Almost anything I've bought from Kershaw. Dollar for dollar, I'm always happy with my knives I've bought from them.

Reek, that Zing takes on a new look with the polished edge - I like it!

It's been said in this thread before, but for about $35, I love the Kershaw Skyline and the Spyderco Tenacious is a great value, though it's not quite my kind of knife. For $20, the Kershaw Chill is great. Buck Nobleman's not bad, either.

Amazon.com does free shipping for orders over $25. If the knife is less than that, buy two. ;)

I've never been disappointed with a smith$wesson folder to be truthfull. I don't expect perfection and abuse the crap out of them. Once the blade play gets excessive and in fixable I just give then away or relegate them to garden duty.

Ka Bar Dozier, best $17 I've ever spent on a knife, like the model so much I have three now.

Oh, it's inexpensive now is it?! :D

In the 1990's, Scandanavian knives were cheap as chips here in England, and I've had some great 'cheapies' from Brusletto, EKA, Martinni, Normark, and (most of all) Frosts. More recently, I've been impressed with all the Boker Plus knives I've had, the CS Roach Belly (mentioned earlier) and the CS Finn Bear.

So far every cheap knife I bought has impressed me. I have found the fit and finish on all my CRKT's essentially perfect. As with my kershaws and HK's. And I've bought 4 junglee's the venom, jf2, large stainless Marshall, and large tripoint all for $100 :). That's 4 knives with either ats-34 or aus-10 for $100 bucks new! I'd say for the biggest surprise of overall fit and finish, blade, and sturdiness I'd have to say these three
1.) OKC utilitac II
2.) Sog salute
3.)blackhawk pointman

These 3 I carry the most and take the most beating and still have no blade play and feel brand new apart from the occasional touch up on some stones.

Sorry I tend to ramble about cheap knives because I love all my cheapos and only like about half my knives over $75, don't know if I'm weird or if I have bad luck with expensive knives the jury is still out haha

I bought a few real stinkers when I discovered Ebay about five years ago! Some didn't even arrive! I learned my lesson! :)

Only bought one CRKT knife, came blunt as a biscuit.

Oh and my first decently sized knife I ever owned was a half serrated gerber ez out with unlabeled stainless and three funny holes for opening. Ive had it for maybe 6 years and even still pick it over some more expensive knives. I loved the way it felt and how it didn't develop blade play and opened smooth so I found an older model with ats-34 and one opening hole and it came crazyyy sharp, I haven't used it to much yet though. Ok I'll stop rambling now haha

I think the S&W Extreme Ops for about $15 with 440-C steel is a good deal. Very solidly built. I like the camo finish on the one and the nice big handle on the other. I own many Protechs, Microtechs, Benchmades, Spydercos, Custom scrimshaed fixed blade hunting knives so I've some experience with fine knives and cutlery steels. I find for EDC these hold an edge as good as just about 90% of my much more expensive folders.

That's been my experience with benchmade, spyderco, and a fairly expensive sog. Every crkt was also razor sharp and I've purchased like 15 now almost all from eBay haha...I even have people who don't know knives look through all mine and have they pick the 3 they think are the most expensive and 3 they think are the cheapest off feel and almost always the utilitac II, crkt Ryan model 7, and benchmade bedlam come in the top 3 and almost always a sog, benchmade, and boker magnum come last. I guess everyone has different luck and different tastes. If I spend alot I expect alot, if I don't then I don't but I just happen to get alot so I'm happy.

Yes, to be fair, I've had knives from Buck and Gerber (back in the days when Gerber were regarded as a quality cutler) that weren't very sharp. I only have one Boker Magnum knife and it was as blunt as the CRKT (at least the CRKT was made from better steel)!

Although I still like the boker magnum haha, the green pyramid is actually a good size and shape for edc, the blade does curve towards the tip but it's whatever I use it for my tasks that may be dumb to do with a knife so of it breaks it doesn't make me sad haha, and I did get it pretty sharp though so that's ok

On a side note I also like using the Uzi defender in 154cm camo blade. It's not only ugly but it makes me sick but it's nice having a cheap 154cm knife to test, practice sharpening, stuff like that.
