EverydayCommentary take on Survive

Agreed. This will add to the frustration of the pre-order folks from 2015. Survive! really have fulfilled all the 4.7 pre-orders before shipping out Cru 4.7 firsts and 3V 4.7 seconds. They still don't really understand good business practices at this point.

Y'all know where my heart lies. What I really, really want to see (early Christmas present?) is for anything that could possibly raise a flag to someone new to be completely erased.

From what I've seen, the history and intent of the SURVIVE! team shows that they are working to be the best they can be and be in this business for the long haul. With that said, we've seen how easy it is to poke holes in an honest explanation.

I've been looking at other companies and their reputations here in bladeforums. Companies like Nocturnal Knives and a custom guy named Will Moon have been getting blasted by the usual GBU crowd and seems for good reason. I hate saying it, but if you take a selective snapshot of my favorite knife company it doesn't look all that different.

They deserve better and I'm looking forward to the days ahead

Correct me if wrong,
I think the Cru. 4.7 was a small batch stuck in between the preexisting pre-orders. It shouldn't add any significant delay.

I find it incredible that you keep posting here if you think we're all koolaid drinking fanboys. I don't get why you think it's OK to post here after all you've said.

Sorry, but you have me confused with someone else. I never called anyone those names here or anywhere in bladeforums or elsewhere. If you say otherwise, that's conjecture. Other people have used my language and I have used theirs but I will only take accountability for what I ,mlmcasual registered user have posted.. and I never called anyone names. Sorry you think I have.
I will continue to be respectful and help others. Thanks for your concern about what I give myself permission to do.

This is either a blatant lie or you sold your entire GSO collection to the person who said those things.

I have no power here so carry on. I'm just very confused and insulted by how you conduct yourself.

Sold my knives? no.. I have posted my various knives on here, they are a matter of public record anyone could take Though I would hope they don't claim them as thier own. that is bizzare, will do some checking..

Please do. As soon as you've found where you posted a pic of your entire current collection I'd love to hear about it.

I agree. The business model would suit a fraudster, but everything is in the intent. I don't think S!K are fraudsters, so hopefully it will all work out & they can switch to a less controversial model.

Intent doesn't remove business risk, though. Faster throughput must be a priority, for the sake of cash flow.

Well, the GSO 4.7 arrived this past Friday and I have to say that the knife is outstanding. There are a few things I am unsure of and I need to play around with, but the knife is unquestionably high quality. The amount of craftsmanship you get for the amount you pay is insane.

If anything this illustrates a second problem (besides the ordering confusion)--Guy will never meet demand if he prices his stuff as he does and produces something this nice. I have a Fiddleback Forge blade that is about $200 and this knife is definitely in the same league fit and finish-wise.

It will be interesting to see how well this knife does, especially when I do the shootout I have planned--this knife v. FBF Bushcrafter v. X. X might be an Adventure Sworn or more likely a Bark River Bravo 1. This is going to be very interesting this fall (especially because I have get a lot of use out of the knives--we are trimming back nearly all of the trees on our property!).

I am not buying it. Why are people getting their Cru-Force, which were only announced a few months ago, while I am STILL waiting for 3V delivery from 2015?

^^^^^Does someone have a good explanation for this?

I suspect, though I have no evidence, that two factors are in play here: (1) as someone already said, the CruV were a relatively small batch, compared to the typical batch of knives built, so didn't take a tremendous amount of time to put through. Although, anything that is squeezed into the production line that wasn't ordered up front by customers has slowed down the process some. It has to. (2) Since the CruV are cerakoted, as opposed to bead-blasted, I am guessing there was less re-work req'd by Guy to get them ready to go. It seems that every run of knives that comes in to them requires a lot of re-work of the 3V versions. I've read it about the 5.1 (indeed, I got my 20CV well before people got their 3V's, as I recall, because the 3V's required extensive re-work. The same seems to be happening with 3V 4.7's.

All speculation on my part, though. I have no insider info.

I'll be very interested to hear your thoughts on the GSO and to see how it does in the shootout.

Can you say when you ordered the 4.7? Is it a factory first?

Thanks, dogboye. That all makes sense to me.

FINALLY he's ready to compare these knives. I'm a little embarrassed to know that he stole the term "chopocalypse" from Preparedmind101. Is he really going to chop with these mid-sized blades? His poignant and widely impacting articles must have earned him a completely new model from SURVIVE! as he states he's going to test the GSO 4.2

I've been following him on instagram and subscribed to him on youtube to make sure I didn't miss his review of the 4.7 and it seems he occupies himself mostly with high end folding knives. I'll be very interested to see how this background correlates to the comparisons of hard use fixed blades.

God, as long as he doesn't start waving the knife around at the camera like Preparedmind101 trying to look like a toughguy.

Am I the only one that got a headache from the ridiculous writing style and endless misspellings?
