Everyone knows or has met someone famous, who did you meet or know?

I've been introduced to several famous musicians over the years. Most recently I had the privilege of hanging backstage with the band Overkill. My friend Ronnie is the drummer for the band. I also met the band Testament. Both of these bands were my inspiration for my foray in music.

I've also met and partied with Alice In Chains, Shinedown, Puddle Of Mudd, and Sevendust.

Last year I hung out with Paul Di'Anno of Iron Maiden fame. That was a night for the history books.

I met Sam Elliot one time when I lived in SoCal. His voice was the same as it is on-screen. We had a pleasant 2 minute conversation. He's a really nice guy. My mother (who's been happily married to my dad for almost 50 years) was incredibly jealous.

I've met Maya Lin, designer of the Vietnam Memorial. She was married at the time, and her name was Maya Wolfe.

I recently worked on a show that starred Maureen McGovern. (Disaster Theme Queen)

Met the Dalai Lama.

that's about it.

Let's see.... I went to high school with Paul Westphal, he played basketball for USC, Phoenix Suns, then coached the Suns and I think a team in Oregon. Now he's coaching the Sacramento Kings.

Mike Love of the Beach Boys lived next door to me, and I used to babysit for him. He was going through his guru/Jesus phase at that time. As Esav stated the NY folks do - one just lets these famous people be. Babysitting for him was babysitting, just like it was for anyone else. Take care of the kids, get paid at the end of the night, go home. We lived at the beach, and houses are built about 5 feet apart - or so it seemed. His deck that faced the ocean was next to my brother's bedroom window. Often if I was looking out that window to see what was going on outside on the street, I would look over and Mike Love would be out on his deck. I would smile and acknowledge him, and he would do that same to me. I never made a big deal about it.

The most FAMOUS person I have ever met was VG. 'Nuff said.

In the early 1980's I was drinking at a bar in Monterey CA with a bunch of guys I had never met before and I realized the guy next to me was Michael Parks - still well-known for Then Came Bronson. Nice guy - low key. In the late '90's I was cutting through Japantown in San Francisco with takeout and I ran into Jimmy Smits sitting on the steps of the Kabuki AMC multiplex theater. He said he was in town for the film festival. I have also run into Elliot Gould in New York and Harvey Keitel in New Haven.

I met Arthur Fiedler once too. He was a dick.

Jan Michael Vincent(Stringfellow Hawke: Airwolf) lived next door to my buddy in Coto De Caza.

My buddy and I had built 65 Mustangs and Jan used to talk to us about the Shelbys he had owned.

King Abdullah of Jordan when I worked in the Ritz Carlton kitchen. I was on the elevator when it stops and guess who and his wife and security detail get on? He shook my hand and we all road the way down humming.

Reba when she stayed at the ritz too. I snuck onto her bus and went through everything! Sin Bad when they filmed 1st Kid at the Galleria of Tysons, I stole his M&M's from the green room they made for him. He was a douche about it and reported the stolen M&M's and there was an "Investigation"! Oooohhhhh!

Moved the piano for Whitney and Mejia (Can't remember his first name) farted and she had him fired for farting in her presence! Man with 2 jobs and 9 kids. What a whorebitch.

I was at the urinal with Richard Gephardt came and stood right next to me. His security was at the door watching us.

Chuck Yeager came to visit my neighbor Mr. Lopez (Who turned out to be an Flying Tiger Ace "Read into the teeth of the tiger"). Chuck was full of himself whereas Mr. Lopez was quiet and reserved. Tried to teach me to fly, I can do it once we are in the air, but landing was the only thing we never got too before he died. Awesome guy.

Thats all I remember now.

My mother and girlfriend were talking about Sam and my GF says "He makes me moist" and my mother says "Me too!" That weird me out having my mother say that.

You sneak on Reba's bus and snoop thru all of her personal stuff, then you steal from sinbad and call him a douche because he got mad?.
Seems like it's you that's the douche.:thumbdn:

My uncles wrote "The Duct Tape Book". Such a ridiculous thing, but hey, it made them some money.

I met Al Dvorin in a hotel lobby in Memphis during Elvis "Death Week". He made famous the words "Elvis has left the building". Death week is a great time to be in Memphis on Beale Street. I used to occassionally go there on business. I've also met NHRA legend Bob Glidden. I live pretty close to him.

And I have met some African Presidents. Not terribly impressed. As for celebs they are thin on the ground.

When I was a kid about 8 years old I met Clint Eastwood at a gun show in San Jose. I was so in awe I cried, it was like seeing the face of god.

All I could say was "I love you." It was embarrassing and my dad quickly shooed me away from him, but that was my fondest memory of meeting a famous person.

I have cooked with Mario Batali nice dude alway wears orange crocs in the kitchen, Bobby Flay, he's a douche nozzle, Chef Masaharu Morimoto, absolutely brilliant, brilliant chef, Chef Jacques Payard probably the best living Chocolatier in the world.

I have cooked for celebs, Ben Bratt, Kirstie Alley (She is ridiculously cool)

Met and/or got my ass handed to me sparring with Dan Severn, Rocky Battastini and Tsuyoshi "TK" Kohsaka.

My dad knew some really famous people as a Capitol Records contract drummer in the 60's. That's his story to tell though.

JMV was pure awesome in The Mechanic.
