Everyone knows or has met someone famous, who did you meet or know?

Reba when she stayed at the ritz too. I snuck onto her bus and went through everything! Sin Bad when they filmed 1st Kid at the Galleria of Tysons, I stole his M&M's from the green room they made for him. He was a douche about it and reported the stolen M&M's and there was an "Investigation"! Oooohhhhh!

You sneak on Reba's bus and snoop thru all of her personal stuff, then you steal from sinbad and call him a douche because he got mad?.
Seems like it's you that's the douche.:thumbdn:

Never looked at it like that. I kind of am sorry for Reba. But Sinbad was a twat to everyone. I mean, it was just M&M's. I left the other good stuff. Oh well.

I met Rupert, one of the previous 'Survivor' players, in Indy one time. My daughter was (is) a big fan of Survivor. I asked him if he could give my daughter a quick shout "hi" through my cell phone. Rather than a quick "Hi", he took my phone a starting talking to my daughter like they were best friends. He talked to her for about 5 minutes. He's more of a local celebrity, but I thought that was pretty cool.

Royce, Rickson, Rorion, and Helio Gracie while in Brazil for 8 months. My sister married a very good friend of the Gracie family.

Nope not me. I have never met or been around anyone who is famous.

Over the years I've met quite a few rich and/or famous folks. Actors and athletes, martial artists and musicians, etc.,. Not a big deal, to me.
In my AO we have a large contingent of volunteers, many are from the "Greatest Generation". The stories these folks have to tell are incredible. I'm blessed to hear em'.
Awhile back I received a radio call ref. some guys wanting to meet up with the duty security guy. I could tell these guys were military protection types right off. Turns out General Richard Myers and his wife were fixing to visit my AO in a few hours and these men were doing the advance.
I spent some time escorting their team leader about, trailing the General and SO. When we finished up the General called me over and we shot the breeze a bit. He gave me his challenge coin. Great guy with a cool sense of humor. Has a reputation for telling it like it is, damn the consequences. His wife is a very gracious gal.
The team gave me a pin. VERY squared-away bunch.
It was cool for this former Marine NCO to engage in some Marine vs. Air Force banter with the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs!

What an honor to have met Helio Gracie RIP. Did you ever get to train with them? That is so cool!

Didn't happen to me, but my grandfather used to sell school buses on the eastern shore. Robert Mitchum had a horse farm on the DelMarVa eastern shore. One day at a crowded diner, they shared a booth together and had lunch.

Awesome! :D I've heard he is a very abrasive man in person.

My first celebrity was Little Oscar, c.1958 (age 11).

Leaving school at 3:15, someone told me the Wienermobile had stopped two blocks away. It was the opposite direction from by trudge home, but I decided to take a look. The Wienermobile had broken down in front of a grocery store, and a guy in coveralls was on his back in the street trying to fix it. Approx. 300 children had them surrounded, chanting "Little Oscar! Little Oscar!"

Little Oscar finally came out to speak to us. He was a little guy with two days' beard, drunk as a skunk, and his uniform had prominent food stains. I think we interrupted his beauty rest. He called us a bunch of bastard little punks, and told us to get the hell off the streets and go home to our mothers and fathers.

Interesting thread.......

While in Dallas for the Cotton Bowl back in the early sixties my brother & I got to meet Mickey Mantle privately and sit and talk with him for a short while. We were in awe and just about speechless.... MM did most of the talking. :D

Emmylou Harris's grandmother lived next door to my great aunt. She was a few years older than us & my brother and I used to sit and watch her play her guitar on her grandmothers front porch when she was a young teen. She was our "babysitter" once for few hours. lol .... ;)

I went to High School with Matthew Knowles, father of the now famous singer Beyonce.

Met Bear Bryant on several occasions.... when younger.

All that happened when I was under 21, it has been a long dry spell since then. :D.... With the exception of meeting, having lunch with, and shooting the breeze with Charles Ochs for a few hours at his house in Largo, FL a couple of years ago. That was a real treat. :)

Also know Blade Forums own.. Robert Dark / www.DarkKnives.com ... . who has become a friend and graciously showed me much about knife making. That.... has been a super treat!!!!

Let's see... I've met:

Gov George C Wallace
Sen John Glenn
Roger Maris
Bob Hope
Jim Nabors
Freddie Hart
Sam Snead
Ralph Shug Jordan

My wife used to be friends with the owner of Jeremiah, the bullfrog.

Three Dog Night used to hang out at this gal's house. "Jeremiah" was large ceramic garden ornament in the shape of a large frog. One day the fellas were hanging out in her back yard drinking wine. They drank enough that they started singing about the frog. And thus came about...
