Everyone's latest acquisitions!

A gift from a blade forum member who has been beyond generous!!!!!

Here his note!!!!

, I slipped a stocking stuffer in with your NL4. It's a proof-of-concept mule (small knife) that was made a few years ago by a PhD metallurgy candidate in Norway or Sweden. I can't remember which. He used his expertise and love of knives to create an elaborate heat treat recipe for 80CRV2 that perfectly balances strength, toughness and edge holding. I bought it years ago just to support the guy, and never got around to testing it

If anyone remembers or recognizes this please do shout out...๐Ÿ˜‰

I can only assume thisโ€™n is still on the way to me. I wonโ€™t go in to detail about the outrageous debacle that this shipment has become.

A DBC (David Beaver) Jester in full Ti/CPM154.

After much worry and woe, it eventually turned up here in Louisville. Hope springs eternal I guessโ€ฆ
It was โ€œOut for Deliveryโ€ last Thursday.
lol.

December 17, the parcel is now 16 days late according to the original estimate for delivery.

Fortunately it was insured and the claim process has been initiated.

I will NEVER (with this forum as a witness) use USPS (between mid-November and January 1) if I have the option, again.

Just received my Monteray Bay Laconico Rosalinda FS
This knife just dropped a couple of days ago and Ray was pimping them on his Instagram so I thought for $160 and S90V I couldnโ€™t go wrong. Boy am I glad I did! This knife is crazy good. It punches WAY above its weight class.
Handle and back spacer Zirblast Titanium. The blade S90V and the knife feels so good in hand! 4.4oz makes it just about perfect for me. Itโ€™s a 4.25โ€ blade so not a small knife. Front flipper with thumb studs.
My one complaint is that the knife came dull. Not sharp at all. Usually this ruins my new knife experience but this knifeโ€ฆโ€ฆ wellโ€ฆ.. itโ€™s just too good. So I just got done sharpening it up to a hair popping edge and now itโ€™s perfect. The action you ask???? Smooooooth. Fall shut action on caged ceramic bearings.
I canโ€™t say enough about this knife. And only $160!? If Rayโ€™s customs are anything like these inexpensive production knives then Iโ€™ll be keeping an eye on the Exchange.

TL;DR: This knife is awesome for $160!

I'll take it!

OOPS, got a little ahead of myself there LOL
I was thinking the samething. There so many wonderful, awesome and amazing custom pieces on this site! In my mind I've spent thousands lol!

The Shadow Hunter by navman, is going to be my first custom purchase once the funds become available, but that Mat is beautiful, and would be great to use.

I'm basically only interested in Laconico designs, but damn do I hate those pocket clips. Looks very much like the one on my Laconico Keen. Wish to hell they made a deep carry wire clip for this. Absolutely love the 3.75" blade length though!!

Question, how strong is the lockup (can stab?) and is there any traction on that zirblast titanium? Thanks for the post, I'm not interested in many knives but I am interested in this one (and had no idea about it).

The lockup appears to be just as strong as any liner lock. I honestly just got it so canโ€™t say for certain yet but Iโ€™m not disappointed yet ๐Ÿ˜ The titanium has an ever so slight texture to it. Maybe a lighter version of the sandblast on a Sebenza??? I have a couple knives that I really like that are slick to hold and I donโ€™t foresee that problem with this knife.
I kinda like the pocket clip but I could see how a fella might not. A deep carry would be an excellent option.

"Discontinued", you say? Bummer. Other than the Rambler on my keychain, the Small Tinker is my most carried SAK.
According to the shop, Victorinox discontinued almost the entire 84mm line a couple of years back. So models like the Tinker Small, Tourist, Sportsman are no longer available for re-stock..
