That’s bad - sorry to hear this. This time of year is just generally not good to buy anything of value that needs to be delivered. Between the sheer volume of stuff being bought and sent and the resulting thievery, there’s just a huge risk of stuff getting ‘lost’. Glad you were covered, but still, a true custom anything is at best not easily replaced. The David Beaver custom I had ordered and posted about a couple pages back seems to be lost/stolen and USPS admitted as much
Third party insurance company accepted the claim and has already paid out.
If you’re shipping a knife worth more than a few hundred (or whatever your comfort level is), it’s totally worth it to go for the third party insurance!
Gorgeous abalone on that one!
Terry, what is it that you don’t care for, regarding the Chaves? Which specific model is it? I immediately thought that it was a great looking knife, when I saw your picture. I was surprised as I read that you didn’t care for it. Just curious………Just off the front porch. The Chaves was an add on for my trade. Don’t really care too much for it but I was after the Quiet Carry Waypoint. I’ve got its little brother and wanted the big brother with textured scale.

I was huge into Chaves knives for the longest time. Had 4 customs from the man and plenty of production. Then one day I just changed my mind. Don’t ask. I have no idea why. I sold the customs for a tidy sum and still have about 8 productions left. 4 of which are the Kickstop flipper and I still kinda dig those. So in short: I have nothing against them other than I lost my mind???? Yeah call me crazy.Terry, what is it that you don’t care for, regarding the Chaves? Which specific model is it?
