Everyone's latest acquisitions!

I've always thought these to be about one of the best survival knives made - they have a good edge and not failing to mention an interesting story on how they, "being Camillus" - beat Marbles for the Manufacturing Government Contract, being Marbles Design and Camillus getting the contract, it was in 1962 after service men complained about the length being a problem that the government started the newer version being the 5" inch Pilots knife - I have had a few of these prior to this one, along with some 5" inch ones, but always wound up selling them for some kind a money reasons - one day this one is going to be sold too - but for now, it's going to have a place in my collection and storage box - along with my nineteen seventy-eight twelve seventeen - So Marbles Design Camillus's Fortune - the Willy's Jeep had the same kind of History as Well - but that is another story - Jeep since 1941 - glad this one has most of its original factory Parkerizing, and symmetrical penned Pommel.

Rather than re-post a pic of my entire 0452/0454 collection again, you can click the link here to see the others.

PS: To the guy who was complaining that his 0452BLUCF did not flip properly, this one flips just fine as do all of the other 0452's in my collection. 🤷‍♂️

See: A Post From a Disgruntled 0452 Buyer.

I picked up one of those in DaNang in 1968, and it's seen a lot of use since then.

Spyderco #3 - Tenacious R.I.L. in blue titanium. Love the look and the materials, laser sharp out of the box, but needed a lube and adjustment of the pivot to be able to spydie-flick it. The detent pressure from the lock bar is just perfect, but the pivot was a tad stiff. Though not quite as buttery-smooth as the Sage 6 (yet), it’s pretty nice now. Locks up solid, releases easily, zero wobbles, and it’s very comfortable in the hand. It’s a keeper.

This Arno Bernard Orca 2.0 just arrived this afternoon and I'm still taking it all in, but already like it a lot. Not counting my CRKs, this is my first S. African knife. I'm not usually an inlay guy, but the African Blackwood looks good, to me. I believe there is a little bit of a CR vibe with the Orca. That leather pouch seems to nice to throw in that box in the bottom of the closet.

I lost my PM3LW in magnacut. And I know where but it's gone for good.

Replaced it with this ManixLW also in magnacut. I have become quite the Spyderco fan, and the magnacut just puts the knife at the top of the heap. I also wanted to try the ball bearing lock and like it - except the spring seems a bit on the strong side. Better that than weak I guess. So far, I like it a lot. The ergonomics are great for my xxl hands.manix 1.jpgmanix 2.jpgmanix 3.jpgmanix 4.jpg
