  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Everyone's latest acquisitions!

This knife below is the knife my buddy showed me that got me into knives. Finally got one!

An Ontario RAT 1 and II in D2 just came in the mail today. The RAT II with the carbon fiber option. I finally ordered one after hearing so much about them, the second seems to have snuck into my cart when I wasn't looking. Quite nice little beasties for $30.00.

Hey there aleforme...
I do the same to all of my ESEE knives... Before I remove the coating, I often etch the logos and lettering. I think it gives it a cool look.

Very cool.

I need to read up on etching. I really like how the lettering and logos stand out. Did you die those scales?

Yes, the scales are dyed with Rit black... They etching is quite simple. Just apply some PCB etchant with a glass dropper to the areas that you want the effect (BEFORE you remove the blade coating), let sit for a bit and rinse off. If you want a deeper etch, you can reapply for a longer period of time.
