The F3 Flipper medium is on my short list for sure. I like the non-flipper F3 at my local knife shop, but I can only rapid open it with the reverse flick using middle finger. Using my thumb I can't get the correct angle for it to snap open super fast, because I can't overcome the detent fast with my thumb - it turns into a slow roll open. It snaps open like an automatic using my middle finger though.

How do you like it? How is the detent? IF YOU HATE IT HIT ME UP.

For about $80 more than the price of the Curtiss Custom F3, I got a used like-new Spartan SHF 3.25" with Chad Nichols Damascus PLUS a used like-new Hinderer XM-18 3.5" Skinny version (to go with the Skinny Burgundy scale I accidentally bought last fall).

But the F3 might be my next big purchase. I love my Curtiss Custom Cruze (Ti/CF handle, Damasteel blade).

Terry M. Terry M. - I may also be able to help you out with a Hinderer XM-18 3.5" after my Skinny one comes in. But I don't need to sell any, so don't worry.

so far I’m enjoying the F3.

The detent is very weak, I really have to “snap” the tab to get it open fully . A flick of the wrist seems to help. The handle is very “rough” doesn’t feel finished completely in my opinion. The blade is very sharp and as it’s my first Magnacut I’m anxious to see how long it stays that way and how easy it is to sharpen. Love the blade shape. Love the finish and the pivot.

I have not had a chance to handle a textured handle like that before. The one I've handled has smooth Ti handles, and a stiff detent that makes it harder to thumb flick than it is to reverse flick. Interesting, the differences between the two. The non-flipper one is $650, but I'd have to play with it more to learn the right grip for a quick thumb flick to be temped to buy that one. I have the same issue with my Maxace Black Mirror, where a thumb flick is not as easy as a reverse flick. As it is, I had to pass, and bought their more expensive Damasteel "gentlemen's knife".

With the Pennsylvania ban on auto's finally lifted this year, I felt it was my due diligence to secure an OTF as well as a side-opener to start the year.
This one arrived today...

A little dull out of the box, but not near as bad as I was expecting after reading the reviews.
Definitely worth the sub $100 price tag right now for an entry level OTF, all things considered!

Here's my 2nd auto, (1st side shooter), this little guy arrived today, and might just be my new favorite sub 3" knife. .

Another steal IMO for the sub $100 sale price tag.
Also not as sharp as I would have liked out the box, but 14c28n, CF, centered, shoots nice, clean build, made in USA, for under a hundo, I'm not complaining...

Guardian Tactical, Pro-Tech, Microtech, it's only a matter time... Just what I needed, right when I was finally growing content with my current collection, a new niche to spend more money... Yay....

More frustration with USPS. I ordered a black tritium lanyard tube thingy for my PM2 from glow rhino. After a weird delay (I'll get to that) it finally arrived today. Except it didn't. The tube had very obviously been stolen from the package. A hole in the side of the padded envelope, and a hole in the zip lock.

The delay I highly suspect was caused by the thief. Tracking showed it arrived at the local distribution center (one town over from me outside of Chicago) on Thursday, and would be delivered Friday. Friday it says it has arrived at a distribution center in Minneapolis. Wtf? Finally got here today.

Seems pretty obvious the thief purposely sent it to Minneapolis to avoid suspicion. How a thief at the PO would know what it was or why they would want it is beyond me.

This is the second time in 6 months I've had something stolen out of a package by them. The other was a knife clip.

My money is otherwise been going to guns, ammo, car repairs, and legal expenses.
