EXCALIBUR vs. JEDI LIGHT SABER

Given the choice between a lightsabre and the Excalibur, I choose a Sebenza. I can't believe it took this long for someone to state the obvious.

both swords are pale in comparisson to the sword of alrik the albino night.
he had a black sword with an attitude of it's own and used to suck souls when it was hungry, sometimes killing alrik's freinds and family if they got to close or the sword was in a bad mood.true it is not very trust worthy but it won all his fights all over.
now someone should recognize it since i read this book 20 years ago and i do not remember the swords name and the name of the book.
but i'm sure it would suck the exculibur and the lightsaber in second.
scorpio.

Scorpio (Hank?)

I think the sword you refer to is Stormbringer, which belonged to Elric of Melnibone, from the fiction of Michael Moorcock...

I need more info.
1) Is Excalibur availablw with a damascus blade? I am mainly a collector you know.
2) I heard Les Robertson could get them, but turned it down because of the mokume inlays on the handle...True?
3) Do they take paypals?
4) Can I get the light sabre as a folder? I think a light folder, maybe with mother of pearl handles and a Devin Thomas bolster would be really nice.

Awaiting your further elaborations so I can weigh in.

The Jedi Sabre is available from FAO Schwarts for $1,895.00.

CD,
you are right. i read it 20 years ago and could not remember the details, and besides i read it in hebrew so i had no idea how to translate it back to english.
now surely someone will back me up on the
nasty STORMBRINGER and will support my opinion that it will kick a$$ of both swords mentioned above.
scorpio.

Stumbled onto this page while doing a search. alot of people mentioned legalities of carrying the weapons. my only comment is: are you going to stop the guy carrying eithier one?

The only advantage with a light saber is held by the person unfortunate enough to be wounded by it. The light saber insantly catuerizes the wound where as Excaliber would leave a very blood gash in its wake that you can easily bleed to death with. I vote Excaliber

As long as someone brought this to the top, a moment of silence, please, for the once and future Jedi, Obi-wan Kenobi, who is now finally one with The Force: goodbye, Alec Guinness.

A wonderfull actor.......he will be missed.

I don't think that Light Sabre don't really run out of batteries, Obi Wan had kept Anakin's Light Sabre for many years before giving it to Luke," Your father wants you to have this..." , want Luke took over, he just use it, without recharging, without asking Ben "When is the next time I should change the batteries".
Carrying a Autharian sword is really a hassle, you have to declare it at custom. As for Light Sabre, you could travel all over the Galaxy with it, without being checked.

If the Highlanders would to use Light Sabre at the Battle of Culloden, and uses its brightness to find their way and not gotten lost, they might have won.

Ok, this had to find its way into this thread somewhere...

WOMAN: Well, 'ow did you become king then?

ARTHUR: The Lady of the Lake, her arm clad in the purest shimmering samite, held aloft Excalibur from the bosom of the water signifying by Divine Providence that I, Arthur, was to carry Excalibur.

That is why I am your king!

DENNIS: Listen -- strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony.

ARTHUR: Be quiet!

DENNIS: Well you can't expect to wield supreme executive power just 'cause some watery tart threw a sword at you!

ARTHUR: Shut up!

DENNIS: I mean, if I went around sayin' I was an empereror just because some moistened bint had lobbed a scimitar at me they'd put me away!

ARTHUR: Shut up! Will you shut up!

DENNIS: Ah, now we see the violence inherent in the system.

ARTHUR: Shut up!

DENNIS: Oh! Come and see the violence inherent in the system! HELP! HELP! I'm being repressed!

ARTHUR: Bloody peasant!

DENNIS: Oh, what a give away. Did you here that, did you here that, eh? That's what I'm on about -- did you see him repressing me, you saw it didn't you?

Darth Vader was wearing level X body armour.
The Lady of the Lake has been selling life/health and sabre crystals for years.
Arthur was a real knight not some wooden actor, but was crap in bed and so lost his woman to his best mate.
Luke lost his hand because he fancied his sister. (Was he a redneck?)
Would I throw a historical sword with real provenance into a lake? Hell no, what if a child found it.
I would put my money on a cheroot, poncho and peacemaker.

Lightsabre advantages:
1)instant patronage of nubile young female royalty.
2)cuts (or more accurately, burns) through anything.
3)entire blade is cutting edge.
4)blade will never rust/oxidize, ever.
5)thousands of years of pseudo-religious support.
6)light weight, low profile - easy carry & storage.

Excalibur advantages:
1)instant leadership abilities, allowing you to maybe one day become king.
2)easy storage - just find the nearest stone.
3)only two cutting edges, but hefty guards, reducing the likelihood of needing a robot hand.
4)Lifetime warranty.
5)religious/pseudo-religious support.

Upon reviewing these advantages, I'd have to go with the lightsabre. Who wants to be king anyway? Too many responsibilities!

Yeah, well, people ... They're just not my bag

I'd pick the lightsabre. It's easier to carry concealed. As soon as it's turned on it would get enough respect with the wah-wah sound and all. Excalibur would look better on my wall but I would look silly carrying it around all the time. Also, can excalibur stop bullets the way a lightsabre can stop laser rounds?

Hmmmmm.....I think I'd stick with my SIG.

But given a choice, I'd take the lightsabre. It's been shown to cut through more than 5 1" thick, free-hanging manila ropes! In fact, some people say it cuts better than a Cold Steel bowie--but I'll believe that one when I see it.
