Yamaha makes a nice horn. I had a King marching baritone and still have my grandfathers silver Conn E trumpet from the 40's. My wife was a guard dancer with the Sacramento Mandarines Drum and Bugle Corps for I don't remember how many years, untill she aged out. Her brother was a baritone and tuba player for them and also aged out. Their dad who is a professional drummer now was an instructor for several snare lines. I never did DCI, but I did WGI and played the marimba, xylophone, and vibraphone. I also marched in middle school and high school in a very competitive band and we were top 3 in the state.

So, in short, I feel your pain, but have no sympathy! :D

Cool dude, I was in Band for years as well but our school's band wasn't too great! I was 1st chair half the time with about 12 of us playing percussion. Our marching band started in 7th grade because our school was small but the band was huge. I played football as well and one year actually marched in our uniforms, lol no break! I started in 4th grade and played just about everything percussion wise. Cool you played some keyed instruments X, I mostly can only read percussion music! I did take music theory so I taught myself piano and keys that way, I can program synths and drum machines too.

I have an album of trance, drum and bass and ambient music I really need to figure out how to release.

Yo yo yo yo yo!

I have to say, Danish Oil rocks! I must get you a teak pic soon!

I hear tru oil may be the way to go but I am 100% happy with the way the teak looks. I thought stabilized wood didn't need finishing but it really made a difference. I caught myself looking at woodcraft and AKS for wood yestarday, man it looks nice.

I did heat treat almost all day yesterday and have 2 batches going. The choppers were in the kiln so I profiled some A2 tantos to work on while the choppers are in glue up, etc...

Hey BigCountry!

oh man, watch out! Drinkin my dinner tonight. Sierra Nevada Torpedo extra IPA, 4 down, two to go. Does it make me sadistic for killing a six pack just to watch it die?!

Oh boy, just one of them days....

Cheers! Torpedo is great stuff, I just had two Sierra Nevada pale ales and am out of beer! I found an ancient home brew to sip on but it's a little chunky, LOL!

Ching-ching!

Here's to a long life and a merry one.
A quick death and an easy one.
A pretty girl and an honest one.
A cold beer and another one!

5 down, 1 to go.

May I just say, it's nice to work with someone so responsive... easy communications, flexible about changes, never have to wonder if the work will get done and when I'll get my knife... I'm proud to support your work Daniel

Oh... and your blades are awesome :D

Hey PG- I know how you feel. I don't have any DFK's in my possesion yet but the project I brougt to Daniel could of easily flustered other makers. Daniels unique life experiences, travels, and tastes in life objects has produced a man of exquiside uniqueness, exceptional exceptions, undoubtfully undaunting savvy and various other Wonka-isms.

I don't know what it is, but the last Daniel (DanCo) I bought knives from, a custom order turned into multiple knives and a box full of other goodies.

Sorry Dan for being a P.I.T.A. customer but I just like things a certain way.

Word up my homies!

Sometimes I hate technology, I just finished a system update on my phone involving the wifi, 3G and 4G fimware. Of course, it supposed to make my phone faster and provide better service, but its not yet. We'll see later.

Much appreciated Xander.

I feel I work best using my own design ideas, ultra specific orders with a ton of design changes are not my thing.

I was talking to a guy from NYC on the phone about his knife and he summed it up the best, "Make it nice!" he told me! I get that! :D
