Cool! I hope the new place rocks!

Durango Brewery makes some of the best beer around. I basically live in Durango, Bayfield is just east of town, I went to Fort Lewis College in Durango and have been here on and off since then.

Oh Yeah beer... Anything by Durango brewery is great if you can find it, they don't make a ton of beer. Ska brewery here has big distribution as well as Steamworks Brewery and they also make good beer. Ska seems to have dumbed down their main beers, to me they are not as hoppy or malty but their special edition beers are still top notch, Steamworks makes great beer but it is a little overpriced. Durango brewery Amber Ale, Pale Ale, and Dark Lager are some of my all time favorites.

G'd evening!

Just got home from work.

Supper,a cold Red Stripe, some time with the Pug.

And Ti fondling....

Excellent! I just had some KFC and an Anchor Steam, ahhh.....

Good ol' Anchor! Love that stuff right from the brewery. Daniel, you should take a trip out here, hit up Sierra Nevada, Anchor, and the loads of local brew houses!

Myself, tonight I couldn't find a decent beer pairing to go with dinner, so I went with Hana fuji apple flavored Sake. Smoked gouda and jersey jack stuffed into chicken breast, breaded in a seasoned mix and baked; with garden fresh zucchini, yellow straight, and mexican grey squash sauteed in locally grown and processed olive oil and seasoned with black pepper and Himalayan pink salt.

Went down almost too fast! Good thing I made enough to have left overs. I'll need it for tomorrow, I have to be a pall-bearer... :( Don't really want to, but what am I gonna do, say no?

Which brings up another point, should I carry a knife at a funeral? I never leave the house without one and feel weird even going into the courthouse without one. I know I will have at least a slip joint, but my Skyline has a blued low rider clip and will likely be under my coat tail. What say you?

Ohh that sounds great! Local olive oil, I'm impressed.

I say carry one, a knife is a tool and there is nothing wrong with that.

The people at the courthouse in Waco,TX stole my best friends pocketknife when he went in to get legally married, he told the guy at the door he had a knife and was going to go put it up and they told him "too late" and took it... criminal in my opinion.

Lol "right to bear arms" except for this... because of that... and that reason...blah blah blah... sorry, but that only effects law abiding citizens.

OK rant over back to coffee!

Yeah the Olive Oil is from a good friend of mine with 50 acres of olives, I keep pestering him to let me know when he has a large branch come down so I can make some nice scales from it!

Sucks about your friends knife, out here I forgot about a small one on my keys and they handed my keys back to me and told me to go put the knife in the car! This is at the same courthouse, you might remember a little over a year ago a judge got stabbed by a criminal in the courtroom and the bailiff shot and killed the guy. Well interesting twist, the judge is my aunt!

It depends on what your county considers the start or government property, Sometimes it is inside the building sometimes its the sidewalk.

I think I will carry my pre WWI MOP pen knife and leave the flipper at home.

remind me never to answer questions before a lot of coffee, lol...

That is cool about the olive oil, I recently noticed we may have some false olive tress around here, I wonder if the wood is any good. They are very unusual looking...

I found a big area of wild hops growing here, maybe willamette hops... they are looking sticky icky and are stinky, maybe I can harvest them for a fresh hop beer, there looks like enough for an IPA if I'm lucky!

I have been messing with my truck all day, I got a computer and ran code because my check engine light is on and I recently had everything replaced as far as tune up goes. I think I have it figured out... my mass air flow sensor. No big deal I think and it still runs OK, easy change out if it is bad.

I just cleaned it now I'm going to go test it!

Ugh, long day. Left the house at 1230, funeral started at 1330. Lots of milling around, people I don't know, its hot and I'm sweating in my suit. At first I don't even think about my knife, then my father comes over and tells me to take it out of my pocket, I grimmace and start to take it out when the owner of the local toy store (gun exchange) comes over and offers condolences. Perfect! I know he carries concealed so I just pull the, "why can't I have a knife dad, he has a gun?" I suddenly felt like I was 6 again!

Well, my point is funerals suck. No fun at all. I have to get my suit cleaned again to get the make-up and snot off the shoulder from all the sobbing people I don't know giving me hugs. I sat there fondling my knife in my pocket, running my nail down the MOP scales tryi to see if I could find the pins just biding my time. I sure don't want to go to another one anytime soon.

Thanx guys. Sorry Daniel for puttin it in your forum, but just needed to write something, you know how it is.

Anyways, that bushcraft knife is hot decked out in blue/black! Funny, I was watching Bear Grylls last night and he just annoys the crap out of me. He did a buch of bushcrafting, but he puts himself into such dangerous situations for survival, running down mountains, jumping off cliffs, leaving his shelter at night, I mean I don't care what you did in life,it don't mean shit if you do something stupid and get hurt! Now Les Straub (survivor man) he is damn good. Daniel, you should send him a knife! Small price to pay for advertising.

Hey no problem man we all need to vent! It is tough dealing with stuff like that.

Hey if they would use it on their show they can have it! :D I watch both of those shows, I think I have seen every episode of Survivor Man and a bunch of Bear Gryllis also. I mostly watch the Bear Gryllis show because it cracks me up, I love how they say his name too... lmao! cool stuff though.

That blue/black came out cool, it may be my best "Anso" style handle yet! That type of G10 is a 2x2 canvas style, super grippy.

I've been molding sheaths all day, 15 so far and 3 to go. Tomorrow I'll drill 'em and rough shape as many as I can. A few days of finishing work on them after that and I'm going to have a lot of sheaths!

nice. those knives need their own apartment.

I agree with Xander too, that is a great idea to send one to Les. Maybe one with the glowy cord for nighttime visibility, and a firesteel. That would be so cool if he mentions it in his show.

I put in about 11 hours today and got 6 sheaths finished! I molded them yesterday but I'm getting quick!

Ti necker sheath
Ti trainer sheath
5160 Wharny sheath
Camp Kitchen sheath
Poon Tip sheath
EDC Prototype black/grey g10 sheath <----BUY THIS KNIFE!

I even got 2 batches of handle material made up, more Black/Glow and some new Felt Camo, it's layered jet black, green, dark brown, light brown, charcoal black and tan.
