hah! our boys are almost the exact age.. and mine was climbing out of the damn thing about 6mos ago.. so it's been fun ever since! O_O did I mention I'm tired =_= he is watching a little shrek and hopefully going to nap today.. naps ended a few months ago for the most part too... YAY :D
 
That's a trip! My son, Zyler, climbed out of his crib twice before he fell. I told him he's "grounded!" So then he tried chewing his way out. The one thing I find really helpful about day care is the naps. Same time every day, so when he's home, he naps as well.

Well that several hours of uninterrupted time in the shop was short lived. No sooner than I get into the groove of tings, got Atmosphere crankin in my headphones and my phone rings. Its the wife, his daycare called and he has a fever, so I need to go pick him up. Damnit! Poor guy, he has more teeth coming in. Oh well, I got a new yo yo so I have something to keep me occupied in the house.

Ugh, 2yr molars.. sigh.. yes fever and screaming and rubbing the ears. . . and I ask, are you ok buddy? "YA" as he is balling :) definately now understand what terrible twos is about...

Yeah, I plopped him in his crib (months ago) and walk out the room and about 15ft away I hear BOOM.. run back in and he is standing at the door like.. HI, no worries! He's had a bad concussion...several stiches in his lip.. lots of bruises and cuts galore.. oh yeah, and his finger caught in a door and lost a finger nail (it grew back already..) WEEEEEEEEEE children are insane dangerous and don't care about their damned heads! O_O

You getting all this Daniel ? :D

btw, how is the zygote? I freaked when we got to see the photos of his alien head in the womb O_O peanut sized...

Gee, that all sounds familiar. Except substitute a broken tooth for the stitches. Tonight zyler is laying in my lap just chillin, his fever has broken then outta the blue he gets up and starts bawlin. I'm like WTF?! I check his head, still no fever. He doesn't want his cup so I grab him and put him back in my lap. Not 2 seconds after he lays back on me, the projectile vomit comes fying out of him covering him, me, the couch, even got the dog a bit! Ugh, late nite showers with a cranky baby then trying to clean up the mess is no fun. The joy of being a parent!

^ lol.. nice to hear other parent's pains... the projectile vomit almost made me choke laughing.. :D ahh this morning I woke up to screaming. my head is still ringing.. time to hide in the office for a couple hours hopefully free of pain.. :E
 
daniel- what you got cooking in the shop? we need to snowboard this winter O_O wish I could make a trip somewhere but we are still trying to find a place to move to.. Back to the Bend idea, no homes here to pick from now... too small a town!

Lol my shop is like back to the future except I only went 4 days back, lmao.. I have semi finished sheaths everywhere. I tried to work last night but got dizzy and gave it up. This lingering cold really sucks. My wife is doing fine though so that is what is important with a kiddo on the way.

I'll finish those sheaths up then I m doing a 6-7 large chopper run, all for orders. I have 1 dashi in there for an order also. My swords get sent off soon also and I will be making more for sure.

I have some plans... maybe a large harpoon tip, not a chopper though more like a thrusting sword. I also want to make a 3/4" tall 3/8" thick tanto, I saw Wally Hayes make a 1/2" tall 1/4" thick one and love the super burly lines and profile. He chopped a penny in half with it, I was impressed.

Bushcraft's too... I want to make more after my choppers. I may stay away from most edc carry styles still and lean more to bigger and bigger knives. If anyone has a 36" kiln they don't want I'll take it!

I hope you find a cool place soon. I sure hope to get in some snowboarding but with a kid on the way I doubt I will do much, I do have my weekday pass already though for DMR (Purgatory!) they have a sweet halfpipe and big air jumps I like to hit... rails too. I'm getting older but still like to rip it, lol.
 
You guys are bringing back memories. :peaceful: When my son was a little over 2 years,
we decided he could sleep in his captains bed witout the rails on it. Everything was fine until
we got new carpet, kind of a creamy light tan color. One night he comes to my bedside and
wakes me up. Turn on the light, he's covered in blood, blood drops on the carpet, blood on the
wall in the hallway, from him feeling his way down the hall. He had fell out of bed on his face
and busted his nose. He turned 18 last week, he's turned out pretty good so far. I made a
lot of mistakes along the way but it's a learnig experence for both kids and parents. :smile:
 
IMWILSON.. OUCH... captains bed a bunkbed? why are they so hell bent on maiming themselves O_O I'm just glad we seem to be mostly over the face plant phase...


Daniel- Yeah, I stopped hitting huge jumps about 5yrs ago... my knees can't take it anymore (for those who don't know, I turned 40 this year =x) I still ride hella fast and have skills- but just no more big jumping.. parks are too hard on the body.. give me pow and I'll grab my fatty and pretty much be in bliss *_*

oh, that thrusting type sword sounds sweet! Hmmm I also think you should still do some Ti necker types like that one I have from you... great all around easy to store knife.. Last vacation we took, the condo had crapless kitchen ware... knives so dull it was a joke.. your Ti necker ended up being our kitchen knife.. short but it did the work.. and sliced my hand open.. great for rivers and rainy days.. which I will have PLENTY OF again here soon in the good ol wet valley..
 
Captians bed has 6 drawers underneath with book shelves in the headboard and footboard.
Like in a wooden sailing ship in the movies.

The things kids do! I remember being scared to sleep in the top bunk of my bed, lol. I knew I didn't have the skills. :D Lol I remember falling out a few times.

I was never too into larger stuff until I got my Ride Society 157, it has some carbon tubes in it... I seriously thought it was all hype but that sucker lands smooth as can be, landing a 30 footer is like jumping off a step or something, totally effortless. (lol until you land on your face)I gave up ally oops and tricks like that though, lip tricks like backside railslides on the lip of a pipe are my favorite thing... the stuff the kids do is just insane, lol doing a big jump to a backside rail... bouncing off the rail and pulling a 540 to the next one. I was never that good!

yeah Ti neckers and even kitchen knives will be done for sure, I just got in some .072 for some slicer action. I have a Ti skinner I will also be doing, it will be sweet! I have been over at the kitchen knife forum getting schooled... I was a chef for years and kitchen knives intrigue me.

Glad to hear that necker is getting some use, I have 3 of them almost ready right now, they may be my most popular knife along with my midsize chopper, I think I am on #9 of them, each one being a little different from the next. I'm getting better at bringing them to a near zero bevel, they new ones are just nasty sharp.

Check this crazy paracord micarta I made. I have some other cool stuff in store just need pics... Black Burlap micarta with copper colored resin, more Black Glow, a black/green layered glow linen and some cool layered Felt Camo. Up next is my "Double Glow".

That looks interesting.. curious to see how it looks once you start making some scallops in it.. and it looks like it needs some green in there to balance :D

on another topic.. I have a question.. weird, not sure if anyone has tried this.. might be interesting and near impossible.. but say one has a sheath that they want to keep, and the knife that fits it is ok.. oh and it's kydex and molded fairly tight and secure.. how hard would it be to make a knife to fit a premolded kydex sheath.. so say I send you the knife.. what are the chance you could duplicate the knife but in Ti... the challenge is ON! begin the battle.. NOW :) (drinkin' some TG IPA... yum.. time to hit the crack now... stay safe kiddies :D )

I am interested in how the paracord will look when it cuts, I bet it will be cool. For some reason anything green seems to turn black when the epoxy hits it.

I may be able to duplicate it, just depends on the style...

No beer for me yet... hope to start feeling better.
 
I just stumbled across your stuff today and I love it!
I gotta have one of your wharncliffe or tanto or something neckers. And eventually one of those poons, gotta pace myself though.

I'm just having trouble deciding on which one I want!
