Veesix, I'm jealous mang.

I didn't catch anything notable, a couple of porgies, short sea bass, etc. But my sister won the pool with this:

Striped bass? She caught a big one whatever it is!

Nice!

I had a great day in the shop and I am just now done, that was some serious grinding. I worked on three big choppers today, two were in 5/16" S7 and one in .262 5160.

yup, a striped bass. 29" long. She won a season pass in May by catching a 20" fluke, so she fishes free for the rest of the year on this boat, and she won the pool again today! i created a monster.

That is huge! Cool you got her into fishing. I grew up doing a ton of bass, bluegill, and catfish fishing. I may try to go salmon fishing here soon, I have never tried and only recently found out we even had salmon here! It should be fun.

Nice striper, perfect eating size! I haven't got one that size yet this year, but I haven't been fishing near as much. We got about a half dozon sea lions that came up river and are not leaving, they are desimating the local fish population! Is that a six-pack charter? That's the only way to go, I think, if you don't own your own boat.

Daniel, you guys have land locked kokanee there right? If so, those are fantastic eating fish! Not terribly big, but darn good. Down riggers at about 50 feet with whole crawlers seems to be the ticket out here.

Well dove season opened yesterday, so I need to figure out a way to get out of the house for a bit! My wife really doesn't like hunting, but I told her she doesn't have to clean the birds so I think I can sneak out. Wish I had a big ol' DFK chopper so I could just swat them out of the sky like flys!

Mornin' y'all!

Yea X, there were 10 of us on the boat. They have a full galley so they serve breakfast and lunch for the day trips. Hammocks up top, for the long ride to and from the grounds :)

I'm kind of like Captain Ron lol... my Dad bought an old charter boat that had been sitting for maybe 8 years in Grenada, lol about half sunk... we put in new through-hulls, fixed and replaced the rigging, got the motor running and my Dad took it all the way to Texas! I met my wife on the way up and we jumped ship and lived in St.Thomas, USVI for a couple of years before we moved up here. We were known for having the junkiest boat in the Caribbean but we still made it! It was loads of fun and we made it through some crazy stuff!

I got to make it to St. Vincent on a later trip and we stayed for the entire filming of The Pirates of the Caribbean. We went each night and partied with the local coast guard and watched them film the movie, they filmed most of it at night so they could control the lighting I guess. We would raft our dingy up and have a lot of fun.

Ugh, lazy morning here. My mother in law got married yesterday and we were helping so it turned into a 12hour work day.

Grocery shopping then hopefully some time in the shop. I havent even stepped foot out there for a week with all the wedding preparations. Glad its over.

It's Raining!!First rain here in almost a month. It's been so dry here, if you drug your feet while
walking across the yard you would start a grass fire.

Get in the shop! :D Weddings are tough.

Excellent, I know we all need it. It was hailing like crazy here earlier, we got a little rain too.

I have been in the shop grinding since this afternoon, lol I noticed it was dark out and came in. Man I'm tired!

So dry here in Resume Speed, the rust just died.

lmao! :D I hope you get some rain. I have a well for my water and have really cut back on my water usage, it is really dry here. My parents told me back home the pond is almost dried up, we need some rain!

I have been displacing the water in my grinding bucket faster than it can evaporate, 3 days ago I dumped 40 pounds of steel dust out of it and it is already 1/3 full! Lol 3 knives in .315-.360!

Still raining here, rained all night. Gnarly, hope you're getting some of this wet stuff.

Daniel, there ought to be some way to melt that steel dust down and use it to make more knives. Lmao.

I bagged it up, lol the scrap metal place will give me 4 cents a pound for it, I'm going to make a killing!

I have seriously considered smelting it! (lol I haven't officially taken it to the curb yet!) A 5160, O1, S7, blend with a sprinkle of 1095, Kydex and stainless would make some killer wootz!

Why not,Daniel?

Columbus took a chance; look what he found!

You never know, it could happen! I have been looking for black pipe for a tuyere (big fire thing) and it could be on!

I need to go by the scrapyard, I have been putting it off since I found out they want 50$ a section for it at the local hardware store, I thought that stuff was supposed to be cheap!
