As nice as it is to have family visit, it's always nice to have your home back that first day. :)

Big- congrats on getting your chopper in hand! :D I'll hoist a drink to many healthy years of you getting it dirtied in the field.

They are lots of fun but it is always good to get back to work.

Morning, raining here. Started last night, should move out tonight. Weather man calling for sunny
skies all weekend!! :D

Cold weather! I hope to make the trek up to my mailbox today and pick up my pick up notice for my mail, lol! I'm excited about the bits! Thanks again!

The top three are my current batch and they are almost ready for scales to be glued up. The bottom one is another edc variant that is ready for heat treat.

Drill hole info... each knife has some holes for tubing or something like that (pins, chainrings, screws...) . The smaller holes around the tubing holes are for "glue rivets," they get filled with epoxy and add a lot of strength to the chemical bond. I sometimes add holes to lighten or balance the handle, it just depends on the knife. The Ti knife is getting huge flared Ti tube rivets and is light as is so it doesn't get any holes besides the rivet holes. Each knife will be rough sanded on the handle area for maximum adhesion strength.

I once drilled out all the mechanical fasteners from a knife and froze it then tried to knock the scales off by hitting them with a 3# sledgehammer on the side bolster area, I couldn't get them to budge! The G-Flex epoxy I use is the very best I know of and really works great, I have flexed a few knives in a vise and the scales stayed perfectly attached.

Remember the 32 oz Schlitz Malt Liquor bottles ? Those were always handy when the evening involved going to a concert.
Hey Daniel, when I was in CO I enjoyed Breckenridge Avalanche Amber Ale - can't find it in TX. Now I partake in Breckenridge Vanilla Porter - nothing but draught now. Its Friday...

Lol a 32 Schlitz is about all you need, especially if it is in the blue bottles! That Amber Ale is a good one, I like that genre a lot. I'm debating between a beer and more grinding...

I live in a tri-state area (KY, WV, and Ohio) and Breckenridge beers are distributed in Ohio and WV. One of my favorite beers from Colorado is Oskar Blues "Ten Fidy" Imperial Russian Stout. Unfortunately, this is not distributed in any part of the tri-state areas, but thankfully I've stockpiled them from other states, so I should be good for the winter...:D

Imperial Russian Stout for the winter, very nice! For some reason I thought Oskar Blues was from Alaska, I'll have to try that one. Samuel Smith's has a great Imperial Stout.

Daniel,

Samuel Smiths's Imperial Stout is OUTSTANDING!!! I love that stuff. I highly recommend any of the Oskar Blues offerings. My personal faves are Dale's Pale Ale, Old Chub (Scottish Ale), and Ten Fidy (named for the 10.50% ABV) http://www.oskarblues.com/the-brews/ten-fidy By the way, this brewery is located in Longmont, CO.

Also, earlier this year, the Foo Fighters played a gig at the brewery: http://oskarbluesbrewsbikes.blogspot.com/2011/04/foo-fighters-play-private-show-at-oskar.html

Well Mangs I spent the morning at the range with a trooper friend of mine. I had mounted a Simmons Aetek Master hunter 4-14 on my Winchester model 70 30-06.I also had put a Sims vibration ring on the barrel.Let me just say I am very happy.Had it bore sighted this morning and after a few clicks to move it left I shot a 3 shot group that was a little bigger than 1/2 inch at 100 yards. My Trooper friend said he would hate to be the guy I ever was after with a rifle.......lol Then I shot my 454 Casull at 75 yards open sights.Keptthem all on a paper plate target. I am pleased with the results. Gun season opens here on the 15th.I had planned on going down to my brothers but I have 2 friends I have not seen in 15 years coming up here to hunt and I just found out the one has 160 acheres up here and he did not realize where I lived. Should be a great time. They use to be my drinking buddies but I quit drinking on 7/12/10 due to the fact I loved rum a little too much like a fith 4 or 5 times a week.I would rather invest in knives and guns instead of making the local bar owners mortgage payment each month.

Outstanding on all accounts BigCountry!! Time for me to break out the 45LC, kids will be using my rifles;) Good luck with the new hunting land! Always fun and exciting hunting different ground.

All this beer talk, I think I'm gonna brew another stout!! Hmm... breakfast stout again?.... or maybe oatmeal stout? Imperial nut brown is a couple weeks from being bottled..yumm!
